The holiday home is located on the outskirts of Nieuwvliet, a small village in Zeeland. It is 3.7 km to the beach, which can be easily reached by bike on cycle paths, but is also easily accessible by car, as there are numerous car parking spaces. The location on the edge of the village allows a view over the fields to the next village, Groede. The small side road on which the house is located is hardly frequented.
In front of the kitchen is a terrace protected by hedges, which is furnished with a table and chairs as well as a parasol. The barn opposite the house offers space for bicycles, prams or similar items. There is also a barbecue there. The entire property, which borders a large field on the east side, is fenced. It is therefore ideal for children and dogs. The two pitches can be accessed from the path to the west through two gates in the fence. This path is not a through road, the tarmac ends behind the property and therefore the path, which lies on a small embankment between the fields, is mainly used by pedestrians and cyclists.
The four guest rooms offer seven beds. Downstairs on the ground floor there is a single bedroom with a 90 cm wide bed, a desk and a wardrobe. There is also a double bedroom with a 1.80 cm wide double bed and wardrobe. Both rooms lead off the living room. Two further bedrooms are located in the attic with sloping ceilings. In one bedroom there is a double bed measuring 2x2 metres and in the other bedroom there are two single beds, each 90 cm wide, and a desk. Both bedrooms have shelves integrated into the sloping ceilings. There is also a guest WC in the attic. THE ROOF FLOOR CAN ONLY BE ACCESSED BY A NARROW STAIRCASE (not a wide staircase - not suitable for older people). On the ground floor there are the two bedrooms, the living room, a bathroom and the eat-in kitchen. There is a dining table in the living room as well as in the eat-in kitchen. In the living room there is a cosy seating area with a cable TV and a DVD player. In addition to the seating area, the kitchen contains a modern kitchenette with oven, hob, fridge, dishwasher. Coffee machine, toaster. There is also a radio with CD player. In addition to the guest WC, the house has two bathrooms. One bathroom with shower, bath, washbasin, sauna and WC is on the ground floor. There is also an outdoor bathroom with shower, washbasin and WC (also on the ground floor, but accessible from the terrace), the indoor bathroom has just been completely renovated (January 2021) and now has direct through/access to the sauna. Modern tiles and bathroom furniture now round off our little wellness oasis. Don't forget your bathrobes! The outdoor bathroom has also been given a new look. Photos to follow.
The village centre is about one kilometre from the house. There are restaurants, an antique shop and a mill that is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The centre of the neighbouring village of Groede is also only about two kilometres away and has a very nice and well-developed infrastructure. Here you will find a grocery shop, a fabric shop and several restaurants, which are located around the small church square with its pretty church. One of the small streets is also a small open-air museum with a blacksmith's shop, an excellent bakery and several small shops and cafés. Everything is in operation and can be visited. There is also a petrol station here. It is also easy to reach on foot or by bike via a small side street. The Breskens ferry harbour, from which a pedestrian ferry departs for Vlissingen, Walcheren, is 8.3 km away and can be reached by car in 10 minutes. This is also a good place to do some major shopping. The real shopping centre with well-stocked supermarkets, DIY stores and a pedestrian zone with shops of all kinds is Oostburg, 7.8 km away. A large weekly market is held here every Wednesday, offering everything from flower bulbs to cheese, fabrics and fresh fruit and vegetables. Oostburg is well worth a visit. On the beach, 3.7 kilometres away, there are numerous beach cafés of different styles, most of which also have free Wi-Fi, but above all a magical view over the sea and the Scheldt estuary, which begins on the left-hand side and over which you can see the silhouette of Vlissingen. The Het Zwin nature reserve begins not far away. It is also worth taking a walk along the beach towards Breskens to eat fish or towards Cadzand. The beach is easily accessible in many places via a path with a pushchair or handcart. A worthwhile excursion destination by car is Bruegge, Belgium, with its picturesque old town centre (approx. 40 km)
The house is equipped with a modern, very well-functioning heating system, which can be easily controlled centrally in the hallway. A washing machine and tumble dryer are available, as well as a high chair and a travel cot.
