My wife and I purchased our cottage as a place to slow down, unplug, and make lifelong memories with family and friends. It’s been our little slice of peace — morning coffee on the deck, cozy evenings, and long, relaxing weekends away from the busy pace of everyday life.

A year ago, we welcomed our first child into the world — an incredible new chapter for our family! As any new parent knows, life has become wonderfully full… and wonderfully busy. With a one-year-old keeping us on our toes, we’ve had less time than we hoped to spend enjoying the cottage ourselves.

Rather than let it sit unused, we decided to open it up to other families who are looking to create special memories of their own. Our hope is that you’ll feel the same sense of comfort, connection, and relaxation here that we always have.

We’ve set the space up to be welcoming, family-friendly, and easy to enjoy — whether you’re looking for quiet downtime, outdoor fun, or simply a cozy place to gather with the people you love most.

We chose this neighborhood because it truly offers the best of both worlds. The cottage has beautiful views of Mullett Lake, where the water seems to change with the light throughout the day — calm and glassy in the mornings, golden at sunset. Being so close to the lake gives you that peaceful, up-north feeling the moment you arrive.

At the same time, the home is tucked back in the woods, which provides a quiet sense of privacy and seclusion. You can hear the breeze in the trees, enjoy the sounds of nature, and unwind without the noise or crowds. It’s the perfect balance of scenic lake views and the peaceful calm of a wooded retreat — exactly what we were looking for when we found this special spot.

What truly makes our property unique is how rare it is to find this kind of space in Northern Michigan — especially in the Northern Lower Peninsula. With six bedrooms spread across two separate cottages, it’s designed perfectly for larger families or multiple families vacationing together.

Having two cottages on the same property allows everyone to enjoy time together while still having their own private space to relax and recharge. Grandparents can turn in early while kids stay up playing games. Two families can share meals and lake days, then retreat to their own cottage at night. It creates the perfect balance of togetherness and privacy — something that’s hard to find up north.
