About this property

Dümmerbrise

-Our holiday home combines tradition and quality with the amenities of modern comfort: The house is located directly adjacent to the Marissa Holiday Park (with access to the resort) between Hüde and Lembruch. Guests can enjoy the resort’s amenities as well as the peace and privacy of a secluded setting.
-A half-timbered house built by a professional: This traditional home welcomes you with solid, handmade, and carved furniture, including a mechanical pendulum clock with a chime from the last century and a unique secretary desk (now used as a writing desk). At the end of his career as a craftsman, the builder fulfilled his dream of creating a house built in the traditional style—without iron or steel—that is cosy and comfortable, featuring built-in woodwork in every room to maximise space efficiency. Hand-painted pictures, chandeliers, and books from the last century invite you to take a closer look.
- Floor Plan: On the ground floor, the L-shaped layout features a kitchen and living room that are connected yet can be separated, a pantry, a hallway, a bathroom with a bathtub, and a sunroom. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms and a second bathroom with a shower.
- The Upper Floor: One bedroom is set up as the “master bedroom,” featuring a double bed with two mattresses and slatted frames—one of which is motorised (in case one person has back problems or wants to surf the web while sitting up at night)—an exercise bike, and plenty of closet space for clothing. The second bedroom (children’s room or guest room) is located directly across from it. It is equipped with two single beds, a TV (LCD/satellite), a chest of drawers (for toys), a seating area, and a table, so that everyone can have their own space (children/guests). The small bathroom has proven to be a practical standard bathroom; it’s small but has everything you need and is right next to both bedrooms.
- Ground floor: The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, stove with oven, coffee maker, electric kettle, toaster, and more. A freezer and the washing machine are located in the pantry. The living room features a large LCD/satellite TV, the Wi-Fi router, a seating area with comfortable chairs and a table, and various high-quality dressers and cabinets (see above). The sunroom is furnished with a seating area and a table, ideal for use in rain or wind. In front of the sunroom is the garden and the patio. A table and chairs are also provided specifically for this area; the garden has various sections—behind the house, you can play ball, while out front you can enjoy the fragrant herb garden and the blooming plants. For garden use, there is a lounge chair, a grill, and umbrellas. In the driveway area, you can park a small caravan in the carport with room for a standard-sized car behind it. The property is enclosed by a hedge that provides privacy and shields it from view. There is also a shed on the property used to store bicycles, garden tools, and boating equipment that are not included in the rental. We’re happy to discuss optional use of these items, provided that any damage caused by the guest is repaired immediately. It’s best to use your own vehicles, which you can park in the back yard or in the carport, protected from the rain.
-Leisure activities in the immediate vicinity: swimming, visiting pubs, building sandcastles on the beach, biking around Lake Dümmer, boating (pedal boats, paddleboats, or rowing boats) between Lehmbruch and Hüde, or enjoying the sauna; “hot tub/swimming pool (indoor + outdoor)” available through the end of 2021, restaurants (BeachMar is already open; other restaurants will open by the end of 2021). In Lehmbruch (a 10-minute walk away), there are restaurants, shops, and everything a holidaymaker could want. Children can also take lessons at a nearby surf or sailing school (also within walking distance).

-Other recreational options (e.g., on rainy days): Dümmer Museum, Damme City Museum, Schäferhof (south of Dümmer), visit all three harbours (Lehmbruch/Hüde/Dümmerlohhausen), cinemas in Quernheim (Lichtburg) or Diepholz, strolling through the neighbouring towns (Lemförde, Diepholz, Damme, Hüde, Lehmbruch), Damme Sports Airfield (paragliding, trikes, ultralight flying, sport planes, etc., and a “Transall C160” on the ground).
