Tomahawk, Trails & Water: Our home is located on the Grandmother Flowage as part of the Wisconsin River, and has an endless amount of shoreline and water to explore via kayak, boat, or snowmobile. With a maximum depth of 22 feet and a length of almost 7 miles, you will find an endless amount of panfish, largemouth and smallmouth bass, northern pike, walleye, and the coveted Wisconsin musky. There are three boat launches located on the flowage, one located on the same road as the property. For snowmobiling, you can ride straight from the garage and ride north a few miles up river to where the trail meets, if the river is frozen. Please use caution. During the summer, there are hundreds of miles of ATV/UTV trails to explore. Tomahawk is a ATV/UTV friendly town.
There are TONS of lakes to explore. Lake Mohawksin, Nakomis, Alice and the Wisconsin River are all located around Tomahawk and offer excellent fishing and boating opportunities. The historical Hiawatha Trail is a beautiful trail to explore. Timms Hill is the highest overlook in Wisconsin. Rib Mountain/Granite Peak Ski Area is the Midwests LARGEST ski hill and is within an hour of the lodge. Copper Falls is a breathtaking waterfall hike and is 2 hours away (a great day trip).
We have a personalized list of local recommendations for restaurants and things to do which we will send to you upon booking. There are lots of supper clubs and restaurants to explore.
Special note: We have had local reports of the ice behind the home where it is a hit or miss. Make sure to check local ice reports, and stay informed for safe conditions. There are plenty of alternative options to ice fish around Tomahawk.
