About this property
Unique and charming guesthouse in Brattleboro, Vermont
The Space
Welcome to Mahalo Temple Retreat, a peaceful private guesthouse tucked into nature just minutes from downtown Brattleboro. Designed for deep rest, creativity, and focused remote work, this light-filled retreat offers the calm of being surrounded by trees with the convenience of town close by.
The retreat is a 22-foot-wide octagonal building with a soaring cathedral ceiling, intentionally designed to enhance sound and natural vibration within the space. While it’s sometimes mistaken for a yurt, this is a fully constructed building with proper insulation, plumbing, air conditioning, and a wall-mounted heat pump for year-round comfort.
In winter, guests are welcome to enjoy the cozy wood stove. If you’d like, we’re happy to start the fire for you before arrival.
Sleeping arrangements include two comfortable futons, with two additional floor mats available for extra guests. All bedding is provided, including pillows, sheets, and blankets. Extra blankets and pillows are stored in the wooden chests inside the space.
A dedicated workspace and a well-equipped kitchenette make the space ideal for remote work or longer stays. Large windows overlook gardens and surrounding trees, creating a quiet, grounding atmosphere that guests often describe as restorative and inspiring.
Bath towels and additional linens are located in the hallway closet. Basic toiletries are provided for your convenience.
Guest Access
Guests enjoy full private access to the entire guesthouse for the duration of their stay, including a private entrance, outdoor seating, and access to the grounds.
Location
The retreat is located just minutes from downtown Brattleboro, with easy access to local shops, restaurants, hiking trails, and cultural attractions. It’s an ideal home base for exploring southern Vermont while returning each evening to peace and privacy.
Arrival & Parking
Parking is clearly marked with a sign that reads “Parking Airbnb” at the top left of the driveway.
Other Things to Note
• On Tuesdays between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM, the space is occasionally used for a local community event. If your stay includes a Tuesday, we’ll remind you in advance. If the space is needed, it will feel like a brief check-out and check-in, with no additional cleaning fee.
• We will always notify you ahead of time if this applies to your stay.
Perfect for:
• Couples or solo travelers
• Remote workers and creatives
• Nature lovers seeking quiet
• Guests looking for a unique, retreat-style stay
Come experience a stay that feels intentional, welcoming, and deeply calm. Welcome to Vermont
