The cottage was a nice and well setup place to be! The kitchen, bathroom and main space were all easy to use, clean and straight forward. The garden was lovely as well. Hot water, wifi, clean bedding and towels. The experience itself was not as expected. I had expressed the need for a quiet recuperating weekend, to which I was led to believe would be possible. Dirty coffee pot with old coffee in it upon arrival. Indifferent response from host about it. The house itself was difficult to find, up a small about 1/4 mile inconspicuous driveway off the main road. There were no obvious markers to identify the driveway from the road. The host did not provide any specific check in instructions, even upon request the day before. The cottage shares the yard on one side (where the bed is) with the main house, which sits about 50' away. The family is very active, out on the deck at 8am, kids playing in the yard, conversations, music and work projects (hammering, sawing etc.). During my stay, I had people knocking on the door for both a package delivery that was meant for the main house and two children trying to come into the cottage, asking if I could watch them because their parents were busy. I did not feel comfortable enjoying the yard because of the activity on the property. The host did message once to ask if they could build a picnic table outside the cottage and honored my preference to hold off. But another building project was happening throughout the day.
