We have enjoyed our stay at Jean’s. It is close to mountain Gore, hiking trails and the village.
The house served us well; it was so well stocked and had everything we needed for the comfortable stay. Jean was an excellent host; she was responsive to all of our questions.
Comfortable, cozy home to return to after skiing Gore ( Best kept secret in the East- great skiing, no crowds).
Our group also enjoyed fresh snow cross country skiing and snow shooing along the Hudson.
Town is walking distance from property.
Jean was great answering our questions and recommending Apres Ski venues.
Our first time to North Creek! Will definitely be back!

Perfect location
With rather limited lodging options at Gore, we have struggled to find good places close to skiing. We have finally found it! This home could not be more convenient. Five minutes to the slopes and an easy walk around the corner into town for apris ski. The home was warm, well maintained, and comfortable. I will forward to our return next winter.

Great, we are glad you enjoyed our home. We look forward to your stay again next year!
The location was fantastic. Close to Gore for skiing and the cute downtown area of North Creek. We had 2 families with a total of 4 adults and 5 kids. The old house has a very unique floor plan and only one shower, but it worked! The house is obviously well loved and the owners care about their renters. Even the kitchen cabinets were labeled to easily find things! We loved it. This would be a great location in alll seasons, but for skiing at Gore it was perfect.

Hi! Just an FYI, we finally added another full bath with walk in shower!! We’re now officially at 2.5 baths!!
Hope you’ll consider a return trip to Gore!
My family of 6 was thrilled to find a house so close to skiing with so many beds—great for teenagers! Jean is such an accommodating hostess who provided information about the area, was flexible with requests, and replies instantly. The house is older, well-maintained and charming. My teenagers did notice electrical outlets were limited but it wasn’t a big issue. The house was very clean and lots of helpful information from the owner was provided. Easy walk into town. We’d definitely come again!
This is a great place. It is a great combination of old school charm with modern functionality. Great flexibility for sleeping arrangements. And a great location to Gore mountain. The owners also provided great communication and help!
House with lots of personality and a glimpse of living in another century with modern comforts. So close to Gore Mountain. Very warm home on freezing cold days.
Great house close to Gore and walking distance to town
Nice older style home for a snowboarding weekend at Gore. We had a group of 9 of us and slept comfortably. The owner was very helpful and communicated with us in terms of check in, check out, and tips for places to eat locally. Thanks again for everything
Huge house to fit all comfortably, lovely back yard make perfect setting for late night "fire pit talks". Totally relaxing atmosphere, intriguing community and close to beautiful lakes, delicious restaurants nearby and great location for taking walks, mask FREE!!
This was our 3rd stay at this wonderful North Creek home. Super convenient location to mountain and town. Old farm home with rustic flair and a lovely wood fireplace. Plenty of sleeping spaces and dog friendly- which is a rare find! Owners are responsive and place is very clean. It is a wonderful gateway.

Perfect place for our group
This is the perfect place for a weekend at Gore. Walking distance to Gore ( I actually walked there one morning from the house for added exercise) and to shopping, food etc.
The house has everything you need for the weekend too. We cooked every meal there including burgers/dogs on the grill provided. Plenty of off street parking and room inside for everyone to relax.
This was our third booking and we are booking our fourth as I write this. Highly recommend.

Looking forward to a great ski season next year, hope to hear from you again.

Step back in time. Well maintained and equipped.
We had a wonderful stay. Easily fit our group of 12. Plenty of space for all. Grandkids loved staying there, they are already asking when we can go again. Being able to have our 3 children, spouses and their children stay with us was great. We played tourists during the day and went "home" at night for dinner and family time. Very good experience.

Great place to stay!!
The first day when we arrived it felt little odd as the property is like a Victorian old house :) but as we looked around , we started liking it. We had 5 kids with us and they lot of indoor games to play. With roku device it was helpful to keep them busy with Kids Netflix as well. Also, the owner is very nice as we had chits all around to help with what to use and what not to. As well Hudson flowing next to property was a great place for morning walk as well as gore ski mountain is walking. Overall very good with few things missing - There is no dishwasher, as property is old , the locks need some repair.

We are so glad you enjoyed the house, it is quite unique, built around 1909, originally known as the "O'Keefe House." He was the town doctor and his son has written several books about growing up in "the crik."
The locks can be a little tricky, not too many houses use "skeleton" keys these days!
We look forward to having you visit again!

Interesting place but far for being excellent for us
To start with, host were very friendly through all our messaging and gave us a lot of useful information.
The house itself definitely has a touch of family history and spirit.
I would say that we had too much of "being a guest" feeling, as the place is filled with "do/don't" notes and instructions.
Way too much rules for the rental property.
The house is really accommodating for a big company with plenty of space to put your ski equipment and other things.
We really enjoyed the original fireplace which filled the living room with cozy warmness.
And of course the location is great, very close to the Gore Mountain and to the shops.
Another upside is the warmness of the place.
But it is accompanied with no fresh air as all the windows are tightly closed with plastic film.
That was a big downside for my family as we don't like stuffy rooms, especially at night.

About the host
Hosted by Roger and Jean Stauffer
We have enjoyed skiing as a family for years and are so excited to make Gore our home mountain. It is an extraordinary place to ski with something for everyone! We chose this house as a ski house, but it is so much more! There is fun to be had during every month of the year in this beautiful Adirondack town!
Why they chose this property
The charm of this house, built in 1909, reached out to us. The location is ideal, located close to Gore mountain and within walking distance of the restaurants and shopping in town. Or walk the other direction, cross the Hudson and enjoy a peaceful walk along the river.
What makes this property unique
With 4 bedrooms, there is enough room for a crowd to find some quiet time, yet plenty of room to all get together in the living room for a game of charades or a movie night. The kitchen table is a great place for a never ending game of Pictionary (if you are as bad at drawing as we all are)!
