The house itself and riverfront location are absolutely beautiful, and this property has incredible potential. Unfortunately, the condition of the home did not come close to what we expected for the premium nightly rate.Our biggest concern was cleanliness. The carpets and floors were so dirty that our feet and socks became visibly dirty walking inside. Our family always removes our shoes indoors, but I actually bought inexpensive socks for all 13 family members just to protect our feet from the floors. We also found sticky surfaces, food under the dining table, cobwebs, dead bugs, overflowing fly traps, dusty artificial plants, dirty outdoor furniture, and a foul-smelling kitchen drain that our son spent 20 minutes cleaning himself.The home also needs significant maintenance and updating. There was a loose stair railing, worn outdoor cushions, dated/mismatched furnishings, and inadequate window coverings that provided very little privacy. Many curtains were also in disrepair.We rented this home for a special gathering with our children and grandchildren and expected a luxury experience based on the price. The host was responsive and offered to refund the cleaning fee, which we appreciated, but we don't feel that adequately reflects the overall condition of the property.Beautiful home and amazing setting, but it needs professional updating, cleaning, maintenance and to justify the luxury price.

This was the first time we’ve received a cleanliness-related concern of this nature, and we took the feedback seriously and immediately reviewed our cleaning and inspection process. Once we became aware of the issues, our team worked to address them and we have since reviewed the property with our cleaning team and made adjustments to our inspection process to help prevent similar issues going forward. We appreciate the feedback and are using it to improve the experience for future guests.
