Standard check-in is 4:00 PM and checkout is 11:00 AM. If your plans are flexible, feel free to just ask — if cleaning wraps up early or the cleaner doesn`t need to start immediately after your stay, we`re happy to let you in sooner or let you linger a bit longer, free of charge. We`ll message you as soon as we know, but we can`t promise a time in advance this way — it depends entirely on the cleaning schedule that day.
If you`d rather lock in a guaranteed time instead of leaving it to chance, we offer:
Guaranteed early check-in (before 4:00 PM): $20 Guaranteed late check-out (after 11:00 AM): $20
Just message us your requested time and we`ll confirm availability and get it set up. No guarantee fee, no guaranteed time — but we`ll always do our best to accommodate when we can!
---> Gatherings / Guest Count <---
This property comfortably accommodates up to 6 guests overnight, as reflected in your reservation — and yes, the City of Sacramento actually enforces that number too, so this isn`t just us being sticklers. We`re happy to have visitors or small gatherings during your stay — just send us a quick message in advance so we can pre-approve and plan accordingly. We are more than willing to approve a request if you let us know the purpose, expected guest count, and time ahead of your stay.
Stopping by at 1am and leaving at 4am still counts — if the headcount goes over 6, it`s an unauthorized gathering, whether or not anyone actually stays the night. I hate to have to include this but this has been our main issue. Please don`t be that guy that makes us have to add more rules. Nobody likes that guy.
Unauthorized guest fee:
1st extra person: $100/night Each additional person: $150/night
Unauthorized gathering / party fee: $250 flat, on top of the above, for any gathering that brings the property over its permitted occupancy (city rules mean this one`s non-negotiable on our end). These fees cover added cleaning, utilities, and wear from unbooked occupants, and may be charged to the card on file or filed via Resolution Center.
Quiet hours are 10:00 PM–8:00 AM, strictly enforced — our porches (front and back) carry sound straight into the neighbors` windows, so what feels like a normal conversation out there can sound like a lot more inside their house. We`ve got a privacy-safe decibel sensor keeping an eye on noise levels (no audio or video, just numbers) so we can step in early if things get loud. The brand of this device is called `Minut` if you feel the need to confirm that absolutely nothing is recorded. Basically: have fun, keep the good vibes going past sunset if you want, just help us keep the neighbors as fans and not foes. 🎉🤫

2nd time staying here. Very gracious hosts. Fun for kids and great for dogs. Will stay again! Central to train museum and car museum and many other activities
What a great place to stay! The house had everything that we needed and was decorated so fun and artistically. Really enjoyed time on the back patio. Location has coffee shops, a park, and convenience stores located within walking distance. highly recommend.
This house is SO cute and was perfect for our long weekend in Sacramento! It's in an incredible location, just a 2 min drive or 15min walk from our favorite American river beach, which made it easy to run back to the house for supplies if needed. It is also near some really cool bars / shops / restaurants in Sacramento - J street is awesome! And we rode public transit to get home one evening from Old Sacramento, which included some walking, but it's such a beautiful climate and area that it felt effortless. We were able to bring our 3 small parrots in their travel cages and they loved the backyard gazebo and deck. So relaxing for morning coffee! There was plenty of room in the 3 bedrooms and comfortable beds. A second bathroom would make things easier if staying with friends or family and using all the space, but it's advertised correctly and the bathroom was perfect for our needs, including shampoo/conditioner/body wash/lotion and plenty of towels. The kitchen and house is well stocked too if you plan to cook, but we went out or ordered in for most meals because the local restaurants are delicious! It was still nice to have the space to make snacks when we needed to.I truly look forward to staying here again!

About the host
Hosted by Cat
Hi, I'm Cat! My partner Chris and I aren't originally from Sacramento, but we've called it home for the past 3 years now, and it's completely won us over.
A little about me: I used to be an engineer, but these days I'm chasing a different kind of precision — I'm working to pursue art and mural painting full time. That creative streak didn't stay contained to canvases, though. It spilled right into this house, which is why you'll find bold colors, playful touches, and little decor surprises tucked into every room.
Chris handles the behind-the-scenes magic — repairs, the taxes, and anything I really don't want to do — while I get to make sure the space actually feels alive. Together, we wanted to build somewhere that's more than just a place to crash: somewhere with personality, comfort, and a little bit of joy waiting around every corner.
Thanks for considering our home for your stay — we hope it makes you smile as much as it makes us.
Why they chose this property
I could've picked anywhere in Sacramento, but this pocket near Midtown won me over fast. The tree-lined streets and century-old Victorians give it that small-town charm, yet you're minutes from the J/K/L Street corridors — coffee, bars, and restaurants galore, all walkable.
Then there's Sutter's Landing Regional Park just up the road: river access, riverside trails, and an off-leash dog park, so four-legged guests get their zoomies in too. Add in Sutter's Fort and the Capitol nearby, plus bike lanes and light rail for easy exploring, and it's basically the Sacramento I'd want to show a friend on their first visit — history, nature, and nightlife all within reach.
What makes this property unique
This isn't your average beige rental. Every room bursts with color and personality — think dopamine decor done right, with bold hues, playful art, and little creative touches tucked into every corner. Look up, look down, peek in a closet — there's always some fun surprise waiting to make you smile.
It's colorful without being chaotic, artistic without trying too hard, and just plain fun to wake up in. One guest called it "a fun little piece of happiness in every room," and honestly, that says it all. Add in the backyard hammock, ping-pong table, and grill, and you've got a home that's as playful outside as it is in.
