I'll preface my review with 'it's NYC, it's tight, it's expensive,' most of the buildings are older and cramped. That's part of the charm, right? This 2 bed, 2 bath is in the heart of Chinatown about 100 ft from the Manhattan Bridge. It's a tiny, 4th floor walk-up. It was mostly clean. The train is 'rattle the walls' loud. There's some great, friendly places to eat nearby. It is a 1/3 mile walk to the subway. There's several massage parlors on this street that had sketchy dudes posted outside at night. I didn't feel threatened but I wouldn't want my daughter walking alone. It's close to One Police Plaza, the Financial District, and the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges. The kitchen is small but had everything we needed. There's no place to sit other than the 2 kitchen chairs or a bed. The best part was the comfy beds. Wow! Amazing! One of the toilets was so close to the wall that I had to sit sideways. It would be very tough to negotiate if you are on the fluffier side.To get and return the key, you have to visit a bodega a mile away. That doesn't sound terrible until you are managing your suitcases at the same time. Again, it's NY. I probably would stay here again if I wasn't frustrated with the billing policy. I paid in full a month in advance. That's fine. But then they put a hold on my bank account for 500 the day before we checked out and kept it for 4 days. We bought damage insurance so I wasn't happy that this occurred with zero notice.
