Beautiful stay. The farm is beautiful with inroads and trails that my dog and I explored. The hosts are lovely people. Grateful for the restful stay and escape from the city.
It was beautiful and quiet on this quaint farm property. It was about a 40+ minute drive to Charlottesville. Multiple wineries were also a reasonable driving distance. The couple that owned the property were wonderful. And I also loved their dogs, cats, chickens, and cows! Would stay again if I am in the area.
This dwelling was small but comfortable, and clean. The host, Tom and Alicia were absolutely wonderful. My wife and I did not want to leave. Setting was the most relaxing trip we've ever had together.
Super extra lovely …. Both the cottage and the hosts!! And when you book your visit make sure you meet Special, Gracie, and Bay!! The four legged residents make you feel like you are welcomed and certainly at home on their property. The cottage is adorable! Clean. Charming. And definitely a rental we will revisit in the future. Thank you Tom and Alicia :)
The drive into the area where the property is located is absolutely beautiful.
Upon entering the property, lush green grassy pastures encompasses several Angus Cows. Most had babies on their hips which was an added benefit as they were so cute!!!
The pastures are well maintained and clean. I was quiet impressed by the fact that I didn't see any flies. The cows are healthy with super shiny coats. They were all quiet content, calmly grazing. Even when i walked my dogs by them they were calmly grazing. The bull didn't even seem to be bothered by our presence.
The hosts were wonderful and very accommodating. On the second night of my stay i ended up completely lost with no GPS miles away from the farm... after realizing I had no clue how to navigate my way back i simply called the hosts who drove a good 30 plus minutes to come rescue me by guiding me back to the farm.
The cottage was the perfect size for myself and my dogs. It was clean, well stocked with linens and kitchenware. The bedroom is upstairs well decorated and the bed was super comfy.
The views from all the windows were breathtaking. The chickens & rooster were fun to watch. The host has two super friendly dogs as well. Theres a beautiful walking area which leads to a little pond. Talk about serenity!!. I loved it there.
We do enjoyed our stay It was so cozy and we felt very much at home. We were welcomed by the owners who were so nice. They even gave us fresh eggs. Beautiful farm very close to the wineries. Would definitely recommend
Sweet cozy, well insulated log cottage on a working farm overlooking cow pastures, chicken coop and antique barns. Our dogs loved the long walks around the property. Unfortunately, there was a seasonal outbreak of ladybugs inside the cottage (harmless, but annoying) and the bedroom ceiling and bed boards on the bed were too short, making it cramped and difficult to sleep.
Nice location, very quiet. Super nice owners met us there when we arrived. Place was very clean and everything worked as it should. Will definitely go back!
Great spot to enjoy the farmland of Virginia with easy access to wineries and Sottsville
My fiancée and our corgi whiskey had a blast walking the property and visiting the chicken coop, pond, and various fields. The wildlife on the property of deer, turkeys, and countless other birds was great to see.
My husband and I had a great stay! The house was very clean and adorable. We loved walking around the farm and seeing the cows and wildlife. Thanks for a great visit!
The tiny house is adorable! The property is beautiful. My husband and I enjoyed walking around the farm. Tom and Alicia are wonderful people who made our stay very enjoyable.
I wish I didn’t have to go back home Tom and Alicia are such wonderful people. They made the stay even better. This place is over abundant in beauty and so peaceful. You can walk on their property for miles I only wish we could stay longer. Shopping is a bit scarce but 20 min drive into Scottsville was great. I will suggest this cabin to anyone who wants to just get away from all the businesse of life I will definitely be back. Thank you Tom and Alicia oh yes can’t forget Gracie, Roscoe. Bae, for our lovely time here.
We can’t say enough good things about this property and the hosts. We brought our puppy and they were super accommodating! They even have dog towels and sheets. The hosts have three very friendly dogs that are in their house most of the time. We enjoyed morning walks around the 500+ acre farm. It was the perfect way to start the day! There are plenty of places to sit around the property as you soak in the scenery. It was a great location for us as we wanted to explore VA wine country and Charlottesville. The cabin was the perfect size for the two of us and our dog. The cabin was very well equipped. Again, I can’t say enough nice things about the hosts. They were absolutely wonderful!! Thanks for a great stay!
Great spot for a weekend getaway- loved being able to walk through the farm with the pups! Tom and Alicia were very friendly and loved meeting Gracie the farm dog!
My husband and I enjoyed our stay very much. The owners (and their dogs and cat) were very friendly. The farm is just beautiful! It was a very peaceful place to get away from it all. The cabin itself is very cozy and comfortable. The location is about 10 minutes away from Scottsville, which has several restaurants and a coffee shop on the main street. They were about 30-45 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway (depending where you get on it). We had a lovely stay!
We went to Charlottesville to celebrate our son’s 30th birthday. Staying at this lovely farm out in the country was a special treat. The beautiful flowers, outdoor seating, privacy, friendly hosts, and adorable cottage added up to the perfect mini vacation. We enjoyed being close to several vineyards and next time we plan to try out some of the local restaurants in Scottsville.
