New owner that is very helpful. Staff was excellent and place was clean, but very dated. Obvious deferred maintenance needs to be addressed. Nice location close to Hopewell Rocks but not walkable. We wish the new owners well.

Upon arrival there was no one on site. There was a message posted saying there had been an emergency. The restaurant was closed. We called the number listed on the door. Left message. We did not feel safe with no staff on site nor an open restaurant. We left. Host did not refund our money. Very disappointed.

The hot water heater did not work. We were accused of tampering with the water heater and talking down to their staff in front of the office desk. Were were able to explain what happened because one of the hosts a female kicked us out and was irate and accused us of things were were incapable of doing. The place we originally booked smelled terrible so they offered a full cabin at a discounted price which has the breaker switch turned off and we were cold all night. Then after two hours a staff member noticed the breakers weren’t turned on. The plug did not fit so she got us a plug that fit. After waiting two hours the water heater only heated the water for about two minutes then the cold water refilled the tub and the water was brown. It had rust in it and the owner blamed it all on us that was a female but the male owner was completely helpful. We took a video and picture of the damages of the screen, the walls, the toilet and several videos of each time we filled the tub hoping the water would run clear enough to have a bath or shower in but it never did run clear and we had to check out in the morning without having a bath or shower and the female host yelling at us and kicking us out accusing me of yelling at her staff which we had no reason to because the manager of the restaurant was polite, congenial and apologized for the condition of the cabin. I had a very unpleasant experience especially because I went there for my 16 wedding anniversary.
