Enjoyable Week

We spent a week birdwatching on Dauphine Island. It was wonderful to have such a comfortable home as home base after a long day of walking and hunting for bird sightings.

The property was beautiful and clean. There were board games for the kids. The kitchen was well provisioned. I will note that many of the windows do not have any window coverings (including the top floor bedroom). Keep this in mind if you don't like the sun waking you up in the morning. You do not have direct beach access across the dune, but there is public parking 2 minutes away by vehicle.

Sunny, bright house is set back close to the dunes, providing a very secluded feel. Is walkable to the public beach.

Cute Cabin Tucked Away

House was clean. Plenty of dishes/kitchenware. I enjoyed the colorful decor. Shared areas, kitchen and living room were not crowded. Loved the two porches. Not even 5 minutes from beach driving. Hit groceries and quick food needs before getting to the island.

If it’s not raining

Our stay was for 9 days. The house was spotlessly clean.It’s very comfortable with many ammenities, especially in the kitchen. A drawback is that there’s no interior dining table. The outdoor picnic table is good, as long as it’s not raining. The kitchen counter indoors seats only 2, so that’s a drawback.There was a huge, violent storm our fourth night that knocked out power and internet to the entire island.Power was restored quickly, but we were without internet for 5 days, although friends who live in another area there got theirs back after 24 hours (they have Xfinity).Overall, it was a very nice stay and we would recommend this home to other visitors.
