Guess Access Guests have full access to the home, grounds, garage, and private dock, with the exception of three locked closets. At times, we may need access for trash removal or maintenance, but this will always be done with the guest’s permission. Your comfort and privacy are our top priority, and we strive to ensure a seamless and relaxing stay.
The Space Our north shore lakefront retreat enjoys sunlight all day, with the dock remaining sunny into the evening, perfect for extended swimming, sunbathing, or relaxing on a Ratana lounge chair with a good book. While the afternoon brings some shade, there is plenty of fun for all ages, including swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, biking, trampoline jumping, and yard games like bocce ball and corn hole. For indoor fun, head to the garage for a game of ping pong away from the sun.
This two-story, open-concept home comfortably accommodates your group of 14 guests: 10 adults and 4 children. The main floor features the living room, dining area, and modern kitchen, along with a king bedroom, queen bedroom, and two bathrooms. A bright breezeway-style hallway at the back of the house provides access to the garage, laundry room, and amenities including complimentary firewood, watercraft, and yard games.
Upstairs, you will find Jack and Jill-style bedrooms sharing a connected bathroom, with a queen in one room and a twin-over-full in the other. The entertainment room doubles as the children’s bunk area, with two low-profile bunk beds recommended for kids only, a twin bed, and theater-style seating for six complete with video games, perfect for family movie nights or game time.

Features Description We have a smoker with plenty of pellets, perfect for smoking your favorite meats, and it can also be used as a BBQ to prepare delicious meals. An extra fridge in the garage provides ample space for groceries, so feel free to bring plenty of supplies. There is also a chest freezer stocked with four complimentary bags of ice, ideal for keeping drinks cold in the cooler on the lakeside porch.
The lake is incredible, and you may not want to leave, so we recommend shopping beforehand. If you forget anything, there is a Safeway in Arlington, or Haggen in Mount Vernon, both about a 35-minute drive from the property.
For Guests with Allergies: The area rug in the family room is made of natural fibers and may shed, which can resemble pet hair. This is a normal characteristic of the rug, and rest assured, this is a pet-free home.

The drive typically takes about 2 hours and offers beautiful views of forests, farmland, and the Cascade foothills.
From Bellingham International Airport (BLI): The property is approximately 50 miles south of Bellingham. Take I-5 South and follow local roads through Skagit County to the lake. The drive usually takes about 1 hour and provides a peaceful, scenic route with glimpses of rivers, lakes, and rolling hills.
The final approach to the home is along a quiet, winding 17-mile road through the forest.
Getting Around The quiet road that loops around Lake Cavanaugh is approximately 8 miles long and serves as a scenic, multi-use path for walking, jogging, or biking. While most guests arrive by car, the lake loop road provides a safe and serene way to enjoy the outdoors without leaving the property area. Guest is required to sign a Renter Agreement. Security Deposit Required of up to $500. Minimum age to rent is 21.
