Longer hikes to Mochental Castle are also recommended. The nearest train station is in Ehingen or Munderkingen. The station is about 9 kilometres away. The Ehingen quarry is located about 3 kilometres from Lauterach, and you can also hike there. There aren’t any major shopping options or swimming spots in this small, quiet village, but Ehingen is just a few minutes’ drive away, where you’ll find numerous bars and cafés, as well as swimming spots, or you can simply take a stroll through town.
