The Wyndham are timeshares so be prepared for the pitch and the pressure to sign up for the property tour. They're pretty insistent and they call the room a lot to make sure you're coming to the tour. Once you get through all that it becomes a pretty standard hotel experience. The location is excellent and likely the best hotel location in Oceanside. It's located across the street from the pier and right in the middle of all the action. Oceanside isn't the dump that it used to be. They have rebuilt the entire downtown and made it awesome and smart. It's a really well thought out city plan now with access to everything including Amtrak, bars & restaurants, boardwalk, movies and all sorts of retail. Theres an excellent pizza place connected to the hotel and a nice restaurant called 333 as well, no room service. We stayed in a 2-bedroom ocean view and it was nice, a little dated, but comfy with an amazing view. We also lucked out on the 4th of July and got a north facing room with a perfect view of the fireworks from our balcony. A couple other cool things are that everything is included including parking and they are always offering free food and have little social events plus ping pong, pool and spa. Also, you wear a wrist band with a chip instead of having a room key which makes access to everything very convenient. The overall experience was a little different, but it all worked out well and we would return. Thank you.
