Villa, 4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 4.5 Baths, (Sleeps 8-10)
We are a Canadian family who have spent any years coming to the island. My children grew up vacationing on this lovely island.
Bronwen purchased this Villa in 2008
Why Bronwen chose Cozumel
We discovered this quiet island many years a go and fell in love with it. We purchased the property and built our villa with one of the island's architects. We wanted to create an oasis of Spanish charm and he did a fabulous job.
What makes this Villa unique
The villa is a quiet Spanish style villa with a lovely private pool and an ocean front to relax and swim at either. See the sunset or sun rise from our roof top terrace or sip a morning coffee at the beach and watch the boats sail by.

Great location for families
We had a wonderful racecation for Ironman Cozumel 2019. Two families thoroughly enjoyed the house, pool, and beach/ocean access. The snorkeling was amazing and the water is spectacular. The location right next to Tortugas restaurant was awesome since they have very good food. Maid service was also an added bonus along with the property manager being so close. Thank you for everything.
Thanks a lot Jimmy so glad you and your family enjoyed our home, the beach and Tortugas restaurant right next door. We appreciate your complements to our staff and manager and will pass along your appreciation. Many thanks, Bronwen
My group of 8 adults really enjoyed Casa Cielo. The amenities were great. Everything was as described or better. All staff were exceptional in ensuring that our stay was top-notch. The owners and managers were easy to communicate with and reliable with their response times.
We would come back!
Thank you so much for your review. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay and all was to your satisfaction. Happy to have you back! Bronwen
No waterview but very pretty house
If you are looking for a house where you can sit and look at the water from your back patio, or from a balcony, this is NOT it. It's tucked back from the water, down a well-kept smooth path, far enough that you can't see the ocean. The other house on the property (Sol Haa, I believe, same owners) has the waterfront. Also, the beach is NOT soft sand, sort of rough on your feet, but the snorkeling is very good with lots of fish and pretty coral. The house itself is wonderful--clean, air-conditioned, four bedrooms with ensuite baths, a real kitchen with all the utensils and pots and pans you could want, no bug problem (rare in the tropics) and three tame and sluggish iguanas in the yard. A nice bonus is that Tortuga's (the resort next door) has a restaurant and bar that serves breakfast and lunch and late-afternooon snacks, including excellent guacamole. NOTE that if you are driving, this property is on a one-way street going south, and the driveway is on the *right hand side.* We passed it twice and had to circle around because we couldn't find it. The directions say "past the Uvas" but there are two "Uvas"--one is a resort on the left side of the street and one a snorkel place on the right. Then comes a bright orange wall. Then comes the metal gate for this house.
I am so glad you enjoyed your stay but am surprised by your comment about not being beachfront (the first in over 12 years of renting),. the property is a beachfront property as can be seen in the second photo with the pathway to the beach. As can be seen in the other photos we are set back about 80 feet from the beach. There are views from the ground, second and third floors of the ocean but not expansive views.. I am so glad you enjoyed our villa and found everything to your satisfaction. Thank you, Bronwen
Our group of 8 had a very enjoyable stay at Casa Cielo. The house is spacious and well cared for. Great place for divers, we were able to be picked up by our Tres Pelicanos dive boats from the dock of the small beach club next door.
Watching sunsets from the beach was a favorite high point of the day.
You could get by taking taxis to and from town for dinner etc, but we preferred the convenience of rental cars.
For any readers who haven’t been to Cozumel, I recommend it highly, we have been coming every year for 6 years now.
Thank you Jack I am so glad you enjoyed yourselves.
My family stayed here (2 adults and 4 kids ages 9,6,4 and 2) and we had a great relaxing week. The house is exactly as described and really quite spacious. The rental rate is only slightly higher than the neighboring property with 13 units, but you get so much more at casa cielo (more space, private pool etc). A previous reviewer said the water pressure was low, but I didn't feel that it was inadequate at all. The onsite caretaker Lucio was readily available and very friendly. The house is on a property that is shared with another house. Casa Cielo is set back on the property, but from the pool and outdoor sitting area you can still see the ocean. As well it is protected from the ocean winds, which were gusting quite a bit when we were there.
The beach was good for the kids. There is a rock wall which holds the sandy area from washing away, and there is an easy entry area for when you want to go in the water. There were small waves while we were there, while the rest of the area was experiencing red flag days. We snorkeled in a few areas but found the snorkeling to be the best right at casa cielo. There is a gentle slope in the underwater terrain, and minimal current.
The house is just outside the town of san miguel which makes for quick drives into the city for dinner. There are a few restaurants within walking distance that serve standard mexican fare (tacos, quesadillas etc) and "american standards (burgers, fries etc).
Although the owner recommended renting a vehicle, I would suggest that if you are a big family, you should avoid renting a van. In the end we payed double the Expedia rate in canadian for the week. That is the most I have ever paid for a rental. We would not have paid nearly that much in taxis.
The island is set up for the cruise ships so a lot of places close at 5pm. In comparison to other places I have traveled in mexico (playa del carmen, akumal, puerto vallarta), I found cozumel to be on the more expensive side.
We had a great stay in the very comfortable Casa Cielo. The staff made us feel well taken care of and safe. They recommended some great places to eat less touristy and more local food. Snorkeling was good right out in front of our house. We also went by boat and saw starfish with Ricardo, the property manager. We hopped on his boat from our own beach which was very convenient. We hope to return in the future.
Five minutes from the Town of San Miguel, where there are restaurants, bars, tour companies, grocery stores, pharmacies & banks, Next door to Chankanaab National Park with its pristine beaches, limestone lagoon, scuba diving & swimming with dolphins, a great family outing, Walking distance to the dive pier of the Fiesta Americana Hotel with full scuba diving excursions, Taxis available at the hotel, Up-scale beach club, Uvas, just down the beach with drinks, food & full water sport rentals, including glass-bottomed kayaks & snorkeling tours
