About this property

Peace Cabin- 20 min hike to Wilson Cave!

Whether you’re relaxing inside or stepping out to explore, this excellent cabin provides a fabulous retreat. Our cabin will help you feel at home while you're traveling. This cabin was French built in the 1860’s! Also a must 20 min hike from one of the largest caves in the state of Indiana. Harvard did a study in 1918 and confirmed it was part of the underground railroad! There are lots of trails on Big and Little Creek. Two ponds are located on the property as well to enjoy. Also located around the property is an all organic grass fed livestock ranch and regenerative farm!

Rustic but a bit more dirty than one would expect. Pond was scummed over as well, AC was nice and cold!

This cabin is in a beautiful peaceful setting, overlooking a private pond with amazing fields and caves to explore. The host was generous in driving us around the large farm, which helped us get oriented. The cabin is comfortable, a bit rustic and we loved it!

I want to start by saying this cabin is so neat! We loved it. With that being said, it could have been cleaner. Dusty and floors could have been swept. Shower was clean though! I’m pretty sure it has a compost toilet… it wasn’t or didn’t seem to be in working order. There were a ton of gnats in the bathroom due to that. My kids refused to use it. The pond is pretty and we planned to fish, but it was completely covered in green film and we were not expecting that. This place has SO MUCH potential and we would stay again. We didn’t make it to the cave but owner tried to meet us, our schedules just didn’t match up. Due to the cave being in the main ad, I think that trail should be visibly marked for future guests! I don’t want my review to seem all negative because this place really is cool. Just needs a little more love.

Peace cabin is truly peaceful. Very rural (about 1 mile rock road), literally on a farm by a pond. May look out window and see cows grazing in the distance . Tankless water heater with plenty hot water and nice shower. The compost toilet is…interesting—research that to be prepared. Not sure where the workout room in photos is located, not in cabin. I realized the stairs to loft beds were not something I wanted to navigate at night. WiFi worked great. Host was accommodating, super nice guy. You get to choose a beef or pork 1# sample to take home/enjoy there with your stay. Can’t wait to try my mine. It’s an 1860’s cabin, rustic with modern amenities. Window AC downstairs and portable AC unit upstairs worked great. Nice porch with rockers, gas grill. Fireplace in living room.

From Madison area! Farmer and Rancher along working at Law Firm. Trying to bring joy and peace to others! Love to educate about what we have done here and values of improving the soil and making nutritious beef, pork, chicken and lamb that tastes great. All is related to harmony of the roots, soil and the SOUL!

Why they chose this property

Having happy hour with the animals and deep conversations. Next hike to the private cave and along our several breath taken creeks! Also sometime doing nothing and counting the stars at night since there is no artificial light. It all about making time for yourself and not feeling guilty!

What makes this property unique

Peace and solitude along with nature all around you! VERY PRIVATE! One of the largest caves in the state along with pristine creeks. Everyday something new with mother nature so don't miss out!
