Perfect place for a low-key, close enough to town, trip. The property manager was beyond helpful I really made this smooth as silk. I plan on staying here again.
Great location from all the places we wanted to visit. Would have like to be able to sit outside.

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. Since the front of the house is not fenced and is public we don't keep benches or seats as anyone could take them and it may attract unwanted attention. In the future I would suggest reserving a place that has the features you desire instead of going to places that don't and being upset that they aren't included. For instance going to a place that doesn't advertise having a pool and then writing in the review "I wish I could have taken a swim" would be objectively unreasonable.
Overall a very nice place to stay but not quite as easy to access by public transportation as I thought and I found the host’s security measures a bit intimidating

I'm glad you enjoyed the place. It's unreasonable to consider a bus stop 2 blocks away (3 minute walk) from the front door of a the house as inconvenient. Our listing is very transparent that we take security of the property and safety of all using it as our highest priority. Manually turning off the covered light switch to porch at night so that the area outside is pitch black was in defiance of clearly set boundaries and risked both you and the guests upstairs safety when entering at night. Despite this inconsiderate decisionbI did not write a bad review for you, so it is disappointing that you felt the need knock a star off in yours for essentially not having a bus stop on the front door and for keeping the house safe. Please be more considerate of these things when you book and review for future hosts.

Liked: Location, listing accuracy
Had a great stay here! Nice place in a nice neighborhood. Check-in was a bit overwhelming, there was a lot of specific information sent over messaging that could’ve maybe been put in a document instead. The place is very secure though, they have cameras outside and they make sure you’re there before sending you the code. It seemed the cleaning could have been a bit more thorough as well. Parking spot is also not ideal for longer cars, but our truck fit. Thanks Shannon!
Would not recommend dealing with this owner or property manager.

Guest specified that she would be the only one using the space and then had a gathering of unauthorized guests arrive. When asked what was going on she became very hostile and stated she was having a gathering, and that they intended to use the space. When reminded that unauthorized guests and especially a gathering of guests is not allowed without prior authorization she threatened a bad review and claimed harassment for asking questions. As a host, I do not recommend this guest as they are confrontational, inconsiderate, and dishonestly disrespected clearly set boundaries that I set for my home. This guest would rather write a retaliatory review than to communicate their intentions for use during their stay.
If you are looking for a place where you can rent it, get a door code, and come and go without much communication, this probably isn’t the place for you. However, if you appreciate a host who is genuinely concerned about her property and wants to make sure you have everything you need for a smooth stay, this is absolutely the place. From the beginning, the host was very thorough. When we requested to reserve the property, she reached out to ask about our guests, pets, check in plans, and vehicle parking information. After approving our request, she actually verified the city’s parking requirements and made sure we knew exactly where we could park.As we got closer to check in, we worked out our arrival time. There is a property manager who handles the actual check in process. Once your arrival time is confirmed, the manager messages you and assists with getting you into the property. When you arrive, you text him and he provides the entry code once he sees you on the property cameras. Check ins are not allowed after 10 PM, although our host was gracious enough to accommodate us with an early check in.After that, the host sent detailed information about the property and procedures. She reverified the parking locations, gave specific instructions about shoes, explained where towels were located and how they should be handled if used, and even sent pictures identifying kitchen cabinets that were not to be opened. She also made sure we knew how to properly use the cookware i
Nice, cozy place to stay. Clean place. We were able to walk to and from my friend’s house who lives nearby. We felt safe even when walking back past midnight. I would stay here again!
We stayed here with my sons after a Cubs game and had a great experience. The neighborhood was quiet, charming, and felt very safe. The home had a cozy, quaint feel while still being comfortable and well-maintained. It was the perfect place to relax after a busy day in the city. We especially appreciated the peaceful atmosphere and convenient location. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable stay with plenty of neighborhood character.
