The little cottage in the lake was perfectly located and we had a great weekend. Lots of space so rain or shine you don’t feel like you are on top of each other. Really enjoyed the Kayaks and area the property is located for a nice relaxing weekend. Would highly recommend!

The cove down below was a wonderful place to float on floaties, kayak, etc. The water is only 4-5 feet deep, which was perfect! They had a nice blackstone and grill we utilized. The kitchen had pretty much anything we needed. Several games were available. The only thing that could've been better was the water pressure in the shower. Everything else was perfect and we had a very relaxing and fun time. I would stay there again.

About the host
Your host
We’re a Nebraska family who loves making memories at the lake. Over the years, Johnson Lake has become one of our favorite places to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy time with family and friends.
We purchased this home in The Cove because we wanted a place where our family could gather around the firepit, spend long days on the water, watch beautiful sunsets, and create memories that would last a lifetime. We love sharing that experience with our guests.
These days, much of our life revolves around helping our daughters pursue their dreams in sports, which means we’re often on the road creating memories of a different kind. It brings us joy to know that while we’re away, other families are gathering here to celebrate, reconnect, relax, and make memories of their own.
Whether you’re visiting for a family vacation, a fishing trip, a girls’ getaway, or simply a relaxing weekend at the lake, our hope is that this little corner of The Cove feels like your home away from home.

Why they chose this property
We fell in love with The Cove because it offers some of the best parts of lake life. The water is typically calmer, making it a great spot for swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, and simply relaxing by the shore.
What we love most about Johnson Lake is that it feels like a true getaway without being complicated. Mornings start with coffee by the water, afternoons are spent boating, golfing, fishing, or exploring the lake, and evenings often end around the firepit watching one of Nebraska’s incredible sunsets.
The community is welcoming, family-friendly, and full of opportunities to create lasting memories. Whether you’re visiting for adventure or relaxation, Johnson Lake has a way of helping people slow down and enjoy being together.

What makes this property unique
What makes our property special isn’t just the house, it’s the experience.
Located in The Cove, guests enjoy a more protected area of the lake that is ideal for swimming, kayaking, fishing, and spending time on the water. The private dock, lake access, outdoor gathering spaces, and firepit create countless opportunities for making memories with family and friends.
Our favorite part is that everything naturally happens outside here. Kids spend less time on screens and more time fishing off the dock, swimming, kayaking, playing games, and exploring the lake. Adults find themselves slowing down, enjoying conversations, watching sunsets, and reconnecting with the people who matter most.
For us, this little spot at Johnson Lake has always been about creating memories, and we hope it becomes a place where your family creates some of their favorites too.
