The Space:
Peacefully situated among fragrant evergreens, this light-filled home provides the perfect North Lake Tahoe setting. You'll be a five-block stroll from beautiful Kings Beach in summer and a quick drive from the winter ski slopes of Northstar California Resort (six miles). Best of all, you'll be greeted back at home each day by generous living spaces, a large deck, and a yard out back.
This two-story home is located in a wooded neighborhood of Kings Beach, an epicenter of outdoor activity in every season. Stroll to Secline Beach or Kings Beach itself (less than half a mile) to soak up the sun or get out on the water. Tee off or cross country ski at the Old Brockway Golf Course (half a mile), or go explore the trail system at North Tahoe Regional Park (two miles). Drive yourself to Northstar or Palisades, or use the free park and ride in Kings Beach.
No matter how you spend your days, you'll find that this house is perfect for both relaxing and entertaining. Shed your outdoor gear by the door and make yourself at home in an open and social layout. There are two living rooms - a sunny great room on the main upper level and a second living room downstairs (with its own kitchenette). Upstairs, enjoy high ceilings, plentiful windows framing the forest, and contemporary furnishings throughout. Prepare meals together in a stylish kitchen with marble countertops and stainless steel appliances, and sit down to eat at the dining table and island breakfast bar.
Spend summer afternoons sipping cold drinks on the deck or playing with your kids in the yard (please note that the yard is not enclosed). On winter evenings, warm up by the electric fireplace, stream movies (using your own accounts) on the 70-inch smart TV, or catch up on email with high-speed WiFi at the desk workspace. At night, three bedrooms are upstairs - including a primary suite with its own bathroom - and one more is downstairs. Bonus features of the house include two washer/dryers and ceiling fans throughout (although, like most homes in the area, there is no AC).

We absolutely loved our stay! There was more then enough space for our families and toddlers to relax, play and enjoy Tahoe. The location is convenient to the lake and North Star.

Comfortable home near beach and downtown.
We enjoyed the home and the location was great. We came to spend the weekend enjoying the kings beach area. The home looks like it was recently renovated. It was clean, all new liens, comfortable bedding, beach towels, lots of space to spread out. It would have been nice to have beach chairs to borrow and seating to enjoy the deck area.
We enjoyed this home and appreciate it was kid and dog friendly!

4.5 - it could easily be perfect
We loved our stay.
There were a few things missing that will come with experience hosting, but everything was newly renovated and the showers were amazing. There is an electric grill instead of a BBQ which worked great! There were just a couple of issues with cleanliness, but nothing bad. Bring your own salt, pepper, sugar, oil. Hopefully they'll add it in the future. The shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were great touches. There is pretty much no outside space, so if you want to sit around a fire pit with friends, this isn't the place. Hopefully they will renovate the yard so it is possible, but we didn't need that. There wasn't ac but there were a few fans so it wasn't super cool but it was bearable. I would highly recommend staying here and I will definitely try to stay hear again for my next beach visit.
Check in was easy with communication from host ahead of time. Overall we enjoyed the location to the beach and other places were very walkable. The garage was spacious as was the driveway. The backyard was a good size but many holes in the fence made having a dog spend time there not possible. Even thought the house is marketed as dog friendly. It would be important to know the dog had to stay inside the whole time with only access to the front deck. The code only worked for the upstairs door and not the garage door. The downstairs room needs a dresser or a few more drawers to put clothing. Upstairs Kitchen needed a few more creature comforts. Like a tea kettle, a coffee press. The downstairs kitchen has no oven and no dishes or glassware or anything to make it useful except for the fridge. Just A bunch of empty cabinets. The extra bed should be a Murphy bed in there to make the space more versatile as a living room. The strict rule of 9 pm no noise is extreme and something explicitly shared before renting. I had a family reunion that this hindered our plans. Had I known I would have made arrangements ahead of time. I only knew of this restriction in Kings Beach only when I arrived. 10 pm is a reasonable request but 9 pm is surprising and should be obvious in the listing. Provide more fans for the summer months. Provide some courtesy items: wagon, beach chairs, beach towels. Many of my family had those in their houses. Post when garbage is collected.
