Dog-friendly gem on 10 acres with sweeping view - minutes to Oregon Dunes
Summary:
Cedar Ridge
The Space:
Gaze out across evergreen treetops for as far as the eye can see at this architect-designed Oregon Coast retreat. Quiet and tranquil yet close to downtown Florence (six miles), this light-filled home makes a special escape for beach-goers, ATV enthusiasts, and winter storm watchers alike.
Beautifully secluded on 10 acres, this two-story home offers the perfect marriage of privacy and convenience. The driveway provides easy access and abundant parking for trailers and ATVs. You'll avoid summer's coastal fog, yet you'll still be only a few minutes' drive from South Jetty Beach (six miles) and Heceta Beach (10 miles). Even closer to the house are three different lakes (including lovely Cleawox Lake three miles west) and an access point to the famous Oregon Dunes at Jessie M. Honeyman Memorial State Park (two miles).
Thanks to its thoughtful design and southern exposure, the house is full of sunlight and sweeping views. As you step inside, you'll be greeted by walls of rear windows framing the forest below and the wraparound deck out back.
There's a wonderful openness to the house, which you'll feel whether you're relaxing in the warmth of the woodstove, gathering around the dining room table, or cooking together in the chic kitchen (complete with stainless steel appliances). Escape to the den to stream a favorite movie, curl up in the reading room with a good book, or log onto the high-speed WiFi at the desk to catch up on a bit of work. Cap each evening with stories around the firepit, leave the day's clothes in the side-by-side washer/dryer, and get a restful night's sleep in two comfortable bedrooms.

This house is very spacious and a easy drive to town. The kitchen is great and the deck is very relaxing.I think I spent every night in either the bathtub or steam shower to wind down!
It was a wonderful location- exactly what we were looking for as far as close to town and still peaceful. The house definitely needs a good cleaning though. Other than that the house was beautiful and so fun to see all the work they put into making the house what it is.

Beach get-away
The house was a beautiful beach retreat in a quiet location. We loved our stay and hope to be back!!
The views were fantastic very private very secluded and quiet. Floor plan was open and inviting. Excellent kitchen and the primary bedroom and bathroom were amazing. I would definitely stay here again.
This property is outstanding. We had a wonderful stay over the Thanksgiving holiday. It is peaceful, quiet, and wooded.
We loved cooking in the well-equipped kitchen—it made celebrating Thanksgiving with my son and my father a real treat.
There was plenty of space to hang out and relax, and the views were gorgeous. We loved watching the sunrises and sunsets each day.
I would absolutely stay here again when visiting family.

A last-minute retreat
We struck gold with this place. The view was incredible and it feels like you are in the middle of nowhere, even though you have neighbors nearby (not close enough to see them, but close enough to pass houses on your way up the hill). We saw plenty of wildlife, which kept the dog (and us) entertained! The space is large and open; I wish the kitchen was my own. We cooked in-house one night and had plenty to work with, including access to spices, cooking utensils, and cookware. The shower with the steam feature was an added bonus. We would have no hesitations returning to this house and will likely do so in the near future.

Good and bad
I love this house, such a restful beautiful location for our yearly coast vacation. It's spacious and peaceful. But i was not clean. The sheets were clean and only one towel per bathroom so bring your own. The bathtub had a layer of gunk that you couldn't see until you rinsed it out, touched the sides and felt the bumps. Using my hand i moved it back and forth and what looked like dead skin balled up, it was gross but I found cleaning supplies and cleaned it. Even worse, there were obvious drops of pee by the toilet that had been there long enough that they were ringed with grime. The baseboards through the house were gross and had gunk and hair stuck to them. The floors through out the house were not swept. There were long dark hairs spread all over the house. And the alarm would randomly go off at 1am .... it was frustrating. But I need to say this loudly THE HOUSE WAS BEAUTIFUL AND THE LAND PROVIDED BEAUTIFUL VIEWS. If VACASA handles the cleanliness issue, I would give this a 5 star review.

Hello Amanda, thank you for your honest feedback. We’re happy to hear you appreciated the beauty, peacefulness, and stunning views of the house. However, we sincerely apologize for the cleanliness concerns and the alarm disturbances you experienced. We have addressed the cleaning issues with our housekeeping team, including the baseboards and floors. Regarding the bathroom stains, these appear to be set-in marks, and we will work with the owner to schedule a thorough deep cleaning. Checked in around 4 p.m. on Sunday. The outside trash can was completely overfilled with food-related waste from previous guests, AS WELL AS INSIDE KITCHEN TRASH CONTAINING LIQUOR BOTTLES AND RANCID MEAT. DOG POOP wrapped in a paper towel and left on outside upper balcony that can only be accessed by going through the house. I immediately snapped photos of all this and sent to Avari via the app. Silence from Avari throughout the night. No word from Avari the next morning, so I called their main number; nice gentleman but very hard to understand through foreign accent. He said he was forwarding my pictures and previous day's texts to upper echelon. I heard from "upper Avari" and they asked me to resend the photos that I had already uploaded...I reloaded all photos twice; they then apologized "for the overflowing trash, kitchen garbage and feces on the upper deck." This was about 18 hours after my first text to Avari with photos. I then got a call from the local team; they were very helpful and we worked out a solution where I bagged up all the trash from inside (including the dog poop) and set it outside by the main garbage can. The local team then took the trash away in two trips. No offer of adjusting the bill by corporate Avari; I guess they felt saying "Whoops, sorry" was good enough for me packing out the previous guests liquor, meat and dog poop trash. Seriously, the whole house needs a deep clean; dingy towels, dirty/greasy stove, cobwebs and dust bunnies.
