Riverfront cottage
This is the sweetest little cottage. It was perfect for our getaway. It is located in a great spot to explore the Cannon Beach, Tillamook and Rockaway beach areas. It was clean and exactly as pictured. We very much enjoyed our stay.
Clean small rental with comfortable beds and furniture. Good location for great beaches and towns. Sweet quiet river in front but unfortunately the road behind the house and bridge next to it are quite loud. Also the lockbox needs work as it takes multiple attempts to make it work.
Great place to stay with a boat. Dock and house are well cared for. Great place to stay and have boat ready to go for fishing and crabbing. House is well furnished and
Was a great experience! Loved the area and the place was very neat and clean with well maintained amenities and utensils for cooking. Peaceful location and would love to go back!
Pretty but inconvenient amenities, poorly designed. Dangerous waterfront without fencing. Not safe for dogs or children.

Convenient location on a quiet river with wildlife in all directions. Salmon jumping and birds floating by this cozy retreat. Large picture window and all the amenities you will require for your stay. Great communication from Vacasa to get you in with a code and make your stay favorable. A bit difficult with parking and access into the property but manageable.

Thank you for your lovely review, Scott! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the convenient location and the beautiful wildlife surrounding the property. It's great to know that our communication made your stay favorable. We appreciate your feedback regarding parking and access, and we'll look into ways to improve this for our guests. We hope to welcome you back for another cozy retreat soon!
Nicely remodeled small house. Lots of added little touches like solar lights around the property. The decor is perfect and the kitchen is stocked with everything we needed. We tied our boat up to the nice dock and fished every day then got to relax in this beautiful house and watch the river. There are river otters who play in the evening around the dock. I would buy this house if they were selling!

Awesome little cabin on the river.
It's a really sweet little spot. Sunrises were stunning, and we watched both otters and seals swim by mere feet away from the floating dock. Super close to art and pottery of Nehalem, and to all the things Manzanita has to offer, but the cabin itself feels so nicely outside of the traffic flow and tourist bustle of Oregon Coast Hwy 101 towns. The cabin itself is very well appointed for a space so compact. Our dogs loved it as well; much cuddling was done. Do note that this house is about comfort and views and not about space; the beds are comfy, but the bedrooms are definitely made for sleeping and not for spreading out.
Thank you for staying with us, Dean. We apologize for the miscommunication you experienced during checked-in. We hope that after customer service provided you with another code the remainder of your trip unfolded with ease. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope we can host you again!

Stay and privacy interrupted by staff
During what we thought would be a private stay at this lovely home Vacasa staff accessed the property at 2pm to perform general maintenance such as changing keys in the lock box and replacing signage. We had no warning so our privacy was violated as the maintenance person came onto the deck and looked into the large picture windows where we were enjoying ourselves up to that point. He said he was replacing keys which was confusing since we had key less entry. I felt so uncomfortable that we called Vacasa to just confirm that this man was actually working with them. I am obviously so disappointed and upset. It ruined my stay
It’s very pretty inside, like a designer put it together. But very impracticality done. For example, there is no surface anywhere in the bathroom to put a toiletry bag. None. Cute shelves are maybe 4 inches deep laden with decorative items. There’s cubbies for fresh towels but no place to hang used ones to dry. And that’s for 4 people. The bedrooms have pretty comfortable beds in very, very small rooms but no place to put a suitcase. Instead there are confusing shelves and dressers in bedrooms closets you can maybe unpack your bag into but no place to put the bag after that except the kitchen, dining area or living room. Across from the entrance to the bedroom closest to the bathroom is a nice picture window with no blinds! The view isn’t bad but not when you’re getting ready for bed, hanging out in your Jammie’s or trying to sleep in just a bit. The AC doesn’t work and there are no instructions on how to operate the mini split. It’s dog friendly but no place to walk a dog. When it rains, which it does most of the time on the coast, it’s muddy. Don’t bring your dog out to the main road. It’s dangerous! There’s no fence to the river. If you have a child or dog, you’ll be worrying constantly. My suggestions are to fence the river, put functional shelves in the bathroom, change the sink to a vanity with countertop extended on the right, put up towel rods or hooks, get blinds for the big window, take out furniture in closets and install a sturdy shelf bench height for suitcases.

Nice place but could be much better
The space is nice and the location was great for getting to the beach. The river is endless entertainment so you can just sit on the desk of the couch and just watch the birds.

Busy street
We rented this property because we wanted to fish the river and thought that it was far enough out that it would be peaceful. However, it was hot and there is no airflow in the house. The ceiling fan doesn’t move air and there are few screens on the windows so to open them would let the bugs in. The house is closer to the road than it appeared and for a small town there is a lot of traffic at all hours so having bedroom windows open isn’t realistic as they face the busy street. Our dogs were too hot and not used to all the traffic. We live on acreage so they aren’t used to hearing all the cars. The first night we were all miserable and didn’t get any sleep. The next morning we packed up and went home. We had a fishing trip planned for mid week so we went back down for the night as the trip was early the next morning. We left the dogs at home and brought several fans to make it a little more comfortable. We originally planned to stay 5 nights and ended up staying two. It was a terrible experience.

Incredible little home on the river!
This house was more than I could have hoped for! The home was really cozy, had amazing natural light, fully stocked with all the kitchen items one would need as well as great outdoor furniture for lounging. The bed we slept in (there were just two of us so we left the other room alone) was one of the most comfortable beds I'd ever slept in! Although the location wasn't super walkable as it's along a main road without sidewalks, we found we and our pup had plenty of outdoor space to relax and spent an afternoon hanging out on the dock. It was so peaceful and beautiful at the house- 2 nights away felt like a week! There was a grill on the deck and we wished we would have known that as it would have changed the groceries we brought! I think it would be a great addition to the details of the house and make an already amazing house just a little bit more incredible. Thank you so much for sharing your home- it was a much needed getaway!

Gem nestled on the Oregon Coast
I booked the River Otter for a remote working getaway and a vacation and it was perfect for both! Cleanliness was top notch, especially for being in a remote location. Never had issues with the internet or phone calls at the property. The home had everything to make for a comfortable stay (especially an extended one) and Vacasa is attentive to your needs. I for sure will be staying again or looking into other Vacasa properties.
Tips for this place. Had 4 adults at one point and I can't imagine having more than that to not feel completely cooped up. Respect the neighbors and they'll give you that in return. I was there for 2 weeks in May and while we lucked out for some sun, you should always be prepared for the rain here. You'll run into bugs. It's inevitable being in a middle of a forest/canyon. Just make sure to keep windows and doors closed when you can. You can hear cars from the bridge and roadway but barely noticed and it calms down at night. Only recommendation would be to get blackout curtains for the rooms. Give this place a try if you are looking for kayaking/paddleboarding or fishing right off the property!

Great place!
This is the perfect place for a little get away for a small group. Super easy to get to from the boat launch and plenty of space for your trailer, etc. at the house. Kudos to the interior designer!! Definitely a warm and homey space. We’ll be back for sure.
