The house was bright and open. The kitchen was clean and well equipped with everything that you could want. The master bed was excellent. It was so comfortable! We loved the privacy of the location. Can’t wait to go back!

The cottage was perfectly set up for a vacation with no worries. Clean and all the extras for anything you might need. Host communicated well about arrival instructions and helped us with finding things to do that were of interest to us. Everyone had a great time from parents to teens to even the dog!

My family very much enjoyed their stay in this wonderful VRBO rental. There were A LOT of perks, like a fridge stocked with drinks, a candy drawer, and a loft. The wildlife was fantastic (a hummingbird feeder provided endless entertainment, plus there was a visit from a porcupine every afternoon). The renters clearly put way more into their place than was required. This was the best VRBO we ever rented. I can't wait to rent again in the winter!

This house Is a perfect getaway. The house is beautifully decorated and very well equipped. The host thought of everything to make guests feel at home with many thoughtful amenities. The outside sitting areas are perfect for relaxing. The stream across from the house is easy to get to, you can swim in it and the peaceful sound is a bonus. The host was especially responsive and check-in was smooth. We highly recommend this property.

The Cottage at Quill Hollow was honestly one of the best VRBO's I have ever stayed at. The cottage is beautiful, clean, open, and bright. The host, Libby, was lovely from start to finish. Very responsive. Answered all of my questions in a very timely manner, and even gave me some details I didn't know I needed. This hospitality was extended even further within the home, where every possible need was anticipated and every detail covered. My husband and I stayed at The Cottage at Quill Hollow for a cozy little weekend getaway, and it was absolutely perfect! Libby has truly thought of every detail to make the space feel welcoming, comfortable, and special from the moment you walk in. The greeting wall is such a thoughtful touch, with all of the house information and local recommendations right at your fingertips, and everything throughout the cottage is clearly labeled and easy to navigate.The cottage was incredibly clean and comfortable, and the linens and toiletries smell AMAZING. There are so many thoughtful extras that really elevate the stay such as the communal pantry, wine and coffee bar, record player, and complimentary goodies. The reading loft was one of my favorite parts and such a cozy place to curl up with a book.The scenery is beautiful! We loved the front porch overlooking the tree swing and field, with the mountains in the background.You can tell how much care Libby has put into creating this space. The hospitality is truly top-tier, and it was the perfect peaceful weekend away. We can’t recommend The Cottage at Quill Hollow enough!

The property was just as described. it is a beautiful home. The design was totally thought out with very good attention to detail. The house was super clean and very organized. Bed was comfortable shower and bathroom were great. All the little extras that the host provides are very sweet and meaningful. The host is very responsive with any questions you have. You can hear the stream when sitting outside which is so peaceful. We stay in vacation rentals multiple times a year and this was definitely one of the best we’ve ever stayed in. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to the Berkshires.

Hi there! We are the Begin Family, and we are absolutely thrilled to welcome you to The Cottage at Quill Hollow.

While our primary home and family farm are located about an hour away in Suffield, CT, the Berkshires have always held a deeply special place in our hearts. With a passion for hands-on projects, renovating this cottage into a clean, modern farmhouse retreat has been a true labor of love for us.

When we aren’t hosting, our lives are beautifully busy running our homestead, which is filled with large-scale gardens, chickens, ducks, and our three mischievous resident goats—Honey, Twinkle, and Pepper. On any given weekend, you can usually find us baking sourdough, preserving homemade artisanal jams, or out in nature exploring.

We fell in love with Middlefield for its raw, untouched beauty and the rare chance it offers to truly unplug from the noise of everyday life. We wanted to create a space where families and friends could gather to experience that same magic, whether that means hiking to nearby waterfalls in the summer or hitting the ski slopes in the winter.
