Tucked away a short distance from the center of Fairfax, this 2 bed apartment was just what we needed for visiting family. The neighborhood is quiet, the view, lovely, and the beds were very comfortable. Everything was as chill as you would expect for Marin County and Fairfax in particular.

The apartment was clean and decorated nicely. The view was beautiful and very restful. Thomas, the host, was friendly and willing to answer questions and provide information about Fairfax and the surrounding area. It was a nice touch to have fresh fruit, wine, coffee and other essentials provided. The weekend stay was lovely.

Wow! What a fabulous apartment in the hills of Marin County. Beautifully decorated with a deck with gorgeous views and hummingbirds. Our host greeted us with the keys and made us feel welcome in his home. Highest rating. Will recommend to friends and return if we’re back in the Bay Area.

A really wonderful place -- a beautiful apartment on a hillside with a magnificent view, and really the best you could hope for if you're staying in Marin! The whole experience was fantastic, from start to finish -- and the place even has a beautiful balcony, where you can see amazing birds. Kitchen is great, and the bedrooms are large and nice, and the living room is wonderful too.

This home is perfect. It was clean, everything (beds, pillows, towels, furniture) was comfortable and of nice quality. The deck wraps almost all the way around with gorgeous views and a great breeze up the hill. My kiddos were safe on the deck with a sturdy railing and ample space. The hosts are so sweet and you can tell that they care about the home and how their guests enjoy their experience. We even arrived to coffee and selection of teas, fresh fruit and milk in the fridge. What a gift! Will always stay here when visiting family. Thank you for sharing your space with us.

This was a beautiful unit, decorated with a Japanese style theme. The decor had a remarkable level of detail. The bedroom was lovely with a comfortable bed and a view from the window. Plenty of space for clothes and luggage. The living room area was gorgeous, a lovely place to sit and enjoy coffee or a glass of wine. and gaze out over the Fairfax valley. You can also enjoy the view from the balcony.Overall, the place was very tidy, well appointed and a great place to stay. Host was very nice and helped me with my luggage. They provided fruit, a bottle of wine, and butter and milk in the fridge. (Thanks!) I had everything I needed, and didn’t have to contact the host for anything after check in. A great stay! Very quiet and relaxing. Lots of local food and hiking options. I wish I could have stayed a bit longer, hopefully next trip. I would definitely recommend this site and host.

This is a wonderful property overseen by kind and conscientious hosts. It is lovely, clean, and sophisticated, in its simplicity, sensibility.You’ll be just a 10 minute walk to the greenest grocery store in Marin. Walk 5 more minutes, and you’re in the authentic charm of downtown Fairfax. The rental space is a staircase down from street level, keeping it cool and comfortable in the Summer heat. The layout is ideal with a central passage going through from the entry seating area to the chairs for relaxing while overseeing the valley on the full back deck. Along the left side are the 2 bedrooms with a full bathroom between, all with windows that allow great ventilation and light. Two twin beds in one, then one queen bed in the other, with both bedrooms comfortable and spacious. To the right of the center entry hall is the fully equipped kitchen, with the dining area and living room beyond, finishing with the sliding glass door to the back deck. It all flows easily, with extra linens and supplies stored neatly where you’d intuitively look for them.Beyond the layout, it’s the quality and care with which the whole space is set up. From the furniture, art, decor, to the supplies for each of the rooms, the Zen aesthetic was so soothing and gently playful. And we were so grateful for the little extras such as some milk and butter. We felt right at home rather than just renters. If you choose to stay here, please do so respectfully, as this level of generosity by hosts deserves it

This is a beautiful property. Our hosts greeted us as we arrived and bid farewell as we left. They provided tips for quality charcuterie and offered a lovely bottle of wine and fresh, organic fruit. Thomas was born and raised in Switzerland where he met his future wife Anita 45 years ago. Looking for the California adventure we moved to Marin County 25 years ago and have been happy Fairfax residents ever since. We will have to be convinced of a better place than Fairfax to live to get motivated to leave it. Chances are that we’re staying!

Why they chose this property

We live in a very quiet neighborhood with as many dog walkers as cars. Our unobstructed view onto the San Anselmo hills has always been a special visual treat to wake up to in the morning.
