About this property
Milky Way House - Historic Artist Home 1 Mile from Pearl
Consider this house your home away from home while you visit San Antonio. With three spacious bedrooms, each featuring a comfortable queen bed, guests can enjoy a restful night’s sleep, and a luxury inflatable Queen Serta bed is also available for extra guests. The master bedroom features an expansive mural where you will feel like you are sleeping under the stars thanks to an incredible Milky Way mural that graces both the walls and ceilings. A second mural in the living room is an expansive sunset, complete with pink sun-kissed clouds that make it easy to relax after a long day exploring San Antonio.
The two bathrooms offer both a shower and a bathtub, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. Climate control keeps the space soothing no matter the season. Whether you’re relaxing indoors or planning your next adventure, this fantastic house provides a wonderful base for your stay. Our place is equipped for both long or short stays to make your holiday one to remember.
More than 20 ears ago my husband and I set out to look for a historic home-one with good bones, timeless character, and a soul that spoke to them. From the moment we stepped through the doors, we knew they had found the one. The soaring ceilings seemed to breathe with history, the longleaf pine floors added warmth and character, and the charming quirks-such as a hallway that once served as the original back porch-captured our imagination. Unlike so many homes that lose their essence to quick flips, this one had been lovingly preserved. For decades, it belonged to a sweet woman whose sons ensured it was well cared for until the day she was ready to pass it on. We fell in love not only with the house, but also with its setting. As artists and dreamers, we saw a canvas waiting to be filled and, over the years, made thoughtful upgrades while honoring the home's original character. Additional updates included custom interior murals, an ample screened porch added to the main house, and countless other improvements made over two decades of ownership. This home has been more than walls and a roof-it has been a sanctuary, a source of inspiration, and a keeper of memories. The hope is that those who walk through its doors will feel the same spark-a sense of being welcomed home by something larger than themselves-and will cherish it just as deeply for their stay in San Antonio.
