A newly finished North Woods cabin on a private, wooded lot — 20 minutes from Duluth and Lake Superior.
Tucked into the pines, this cabin blends modern comfort with true North Woods character. The ceilings are reclaimed barnwood salvaged from an old grain elevator, the fireplace is floor-to-ceiling rock, and warm sage cabinetry runs throughout. It's the kind of place that feels finished and cared for, not thrown together.
The space
The open-concept living, dining, and kitchen area is the heart of the home, with a wall of windows looking out over the backyard and its natural boulder landscaping and flagstone patio. The gas fireplace anchors the living room — no hauling wood, just flip it on.
The kitchen is fully equipped for real cooking: French-door refrigerator, electric range, dishwasher, microwave, and coffee maker, plus the cookware, dishes, and utensils to actually use them.
Heating and cooling are handled two ways — in-slab radiant floor heat keeps the whole house warm from the ground up, and every bedroom has its own ductless mini-split so each guest can set their own temperature.
Sleeping arrangements (sleeps 6)
Primary suite — King bed, stone-and-barnwood accent wall, private en-suite with soaking tub, walk-in shower, and a reclaimed-beam double vanity with copper basins Second bedroom — King bed with its own private en-suite full bath Third bedroom — Twin and full bed, great for kids or a smaller group Third full bath serves the main living area Every bedroom has its own TV and mini-split
Two king suites with private baths means two couples can travel together without anyone drawing the short straw, and the third bedroom handles kids or a fifth and sixth adult.
What's included
Guests have the entire home and yard to themselves — a private, standalone cabin with no shared spaces. Free on-site parking for up to 4 vehicles right in the driveway. In-unit washer and dryer available throughout your stay. Wi-Fi runs on Starlink, so you can stream and stay connected even out in the woods.
Getting in
Self check-in with a keypad. We'll send your door code before arrival, so there's no key to coordinate and no meet-up required. Check-in is at 4:00 PM, check-out at 10:00 AM.
We're available by phone or message anytime during your stay. Your local contact is Blake, based in Duluth, who can respond quickly to any questions or issues. Otherwise, we'll give you space to enjoy your getaway.
Year-round access
We handle plowing and shoveling ourselves, so the property stays accessible through every season. In extreme winter conditions there may be a short wait while the main road gets cleared, but the driveway and walkways are kept clear all winter.
The area
You're 2–3 minutes from the nearest gas station and grocery store, with Tig's BBQ right across the street and Pike Lake Beach Club 3–5 minutes away.
Downtown Duluth, Canal Park, and Lake Superior are about 20 minutes out — close enough for dinner and the lift bridge, far enough that you're actually in the woods when you come back. From here you're well positioned for the whole North Shore: Jay Cooke State Park to the south, and Gooseberry Falls, Split Rock Lighthouse, and Palisade Head strung out along the shore to the northeast.
Every season works here
Summer is hiking, paddling, and the beach club down the road. Fall brings the color along the shore. Winter means skiing, snowmobiling, and a fire-lit living room with radiant floors under your feet. Spring is quiet and cheap and all yours.
Whether it's a family trip, two couples splitting a weekend, or a basecamp for North Shore exploring, the house is set up to handle it.
