Combined, the Castle and Chateau De Melusine offer 5 bedrooms and 4 full plus 2 half bathrooms across two properties, with fireplaces, a private hot tub, and ski-in/ski-out access. Note: 4WD or AWD strongly recommended in winter, and the Castle is not dog-friendly (Chateau welcomes up to 2 dogs).

The Castle
Spanning four dramatic levels, the Castle blends medieval-inspired architecture with upscale comfort — hand-laid stonework, curved staircases, carved statues, mounted swords, and custom lighting throughout. Guests enjoy multiple fireplaces and cozy gathering spaces, expansive lake and mountain views from the balcony, and unique themed bedrooms that feel straight out of a storybook.

Chateau De Melusine
Warm, elegant, and inviting, the Chateau features 2 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms plus a tower/loft, beautiful furnishings, and handcrafted stone details. A private indoor hot tub room overlooks the slopes, offering a relaxing alpine retreat with comfort and character.

Outdoor adventure year-round
Winter: skiing and snowboarding at Schweitzer Mountain Resort, ski-in/ski-out access for experienced skiers, snowshoeing right outside your door.
Summer: hiking and mountain biking trails, scenic chairlift rides, lake days at Lake Pend Oreille, and downtown Sandpoint's restaurants, breweries, shopping, and events.

What a wonderful and unique experience staying at the castle and Château was! The owner left a thoughtful gift of cakes for us to enjoy, and we found the ski and ski out route, which was a bonus!

It was an amazing experience staying in the Castle and the Chateau. I couldn't have asked for a more wonderful location. The only down-side was we booked two nights, and we all wanted to stay a week!

The overall medieval atmosphere! We felt like royalty!! The cake from the owner with the dragon was so thoughtful! We almost wished we skipped all day of skiing to just hang out! My grandsons had a great time. It was amazing. Warm, clean, everything worked perfectly!
