The Isabella Nixon Home — Lovely Historic 1835 Home in Walkable Downtown Lebanon
Welcome to The Isabella Nixon Home, a beautifully renovated historic home located directly on Broadway Street in downtown Lebanon, Ohio. Built in 1835 by Samuel Nixon for his wife, Isabella, the home has been part of the community for nearly two centuries. It was recently featured in the Lebanon Historic Home Tour 2026, giving guests a special opportunity to stay in one of the six historic homes selected for the tour.
Over the years, the home has served as a doctor’s office, funeral home, sewing shop, and private residence. Today, it has been thoughtfully updated to offer guests modern comfort while preserving the charm, character, and history that made it worthy of inclusion in the home tour.
The Isabella Nixon Home is ideal for guests who want to enjoy downtown Lebanon without needing to drive. The home is located just one block from The Golden Lamb and within easy walking distance of Lebanon’s restaurants, cafés, antique shops, boutiques, specialty stores, historic sites, and local events. Guests can park nearby and spend the weekend exploring downtown on foot. The walkability is one of the home’s best features.
The home accommodates up to 6 guests and includes 3 bedrooms, all located upstairs. Two bedrooms are on the second floor, each with a queen bed. The third bedroom is located on the private third floor and includes a full-size Murphy bed as well as its own dedicated heating and air conditioning system. There is one full bathroom upstairs and one half bathroom on the ground floor.
The house was renovated approximately 15 years ago and includes central heating and air conditioning, fast fiber optic internet, and modern conveniences throughout. The third floor has a separate HVAC system for additional comfort. The home also features four decorative fireplaces, which add to the historic feel of the property. Please note that the fireplaces are decorative only and are not operational.
The kitchen is completely equipped for guests who want more than a basic rental kitchen. It includes modern appliances, place settings for 12, pots and pans, bakeware, dishes, glassware, wine glasses, cooking utensils, serving pieces, a KitchenAid mixer, toaster, microwave, dishwasher, drip coffee maker, and Keurig pod machine. The dining table seats 6, which is also the maximum occupancy for the home. A washer and dryer are located on the first floor for guest convenience.
Outside, guests can enjoy a shaded backyard with garden views — a quiet space to relax after exploring downtown Lebanon, visiting Kings Island, attending the August tennis tournament in Mason, shopping for antiques, or enjoying one of Lebanon’s seasonal events. The carriage house behind the home is not part of the rental and is off limits to guests.
The Isabella Nixon Home offers contactless check-in for easy arrival. Paid street parking is available directly in front of the house, and a free public parking lot is located one block away and is available at all times.
This home is a great choice for families, couples, and small groups visiting Lebanon, Kings Island, the Cincinnati Open tennis tournament, wedding venues, antique shops, downtown restaurants, or Lebanon’s beloved Horse-Drawn Christmas Parade on the first Saturday in December. It offers the charm of a historic home, the comfort of modern amenities, and the convenience of one of the most walkable locations in downtown Lebanon.
