Welcome to my Hi-Fi Plymouth getaway—a place where premium indoor entertainment meets a peaceful, natural escape. This is my primary residence, shared with my three dogs (two small pups that don't shed, and a medium-sized rescue named Bruce who does, but can’t help it). I open it to guests who need a private home feel in the city. It is an authentic, lived-in space with a gravel roundabout, remodeled kitchen, and updated bathrooms—not a sterile hotel. The house and the fully fenced backyard are entirely yours during your stay. Full Transparency: I value transparency, constructive feedback, and ensuring everyone walks away having had the experience they hoped for. I believe the best way to achieve this is for all of us to share the same expectations from the start. When you rent my house, it becomes your house—please treat it with care and consideration. The backyard is yours to enjoy, but please note that my pups and I stay in the RV, most likely on the pad next to the house behind temporary fencing and large oak trees. I consider that, along with the garage, to be our private space, while the front yard is a shared area. During your stay, I am your neighbor, caretaker, and local guide—here to help, answer questions, and ensure your stay is the best it can be. If you feel that my expectations of cleanliness may differ from your own (please see the pictures to get an accurate idea), I would still love to have you, but I want to be upfront: to keep nightly costs low and minimize fees, I handle most cleaning myself. If you prefer a professional, deep-clean service, I have a team on standby; just ask, and I can provide a quote for that added cost before you book. A Note on the Vibe: Since this is my home, it isn't "perfect" in a cookie-cutter sense. You might find a stray dog hair or the cozy, authentic scent of a wood-burning fireplace. I put a lot of work into cleaning before you arrive, but the house has its own character. If you are looking for a clinical, hotel-like experience, this probably isn't the spot for you. However, if you appreciate a tidy private sanctuary—enjoying bonfires, sipping a morning coffee while watching the sunrise, or relaxing with a glass of wine at sunset—I’d love to host you. Whether you need a stress-free home base, are traveling with furry family members, or want a space for a special gathering, I am here to make it comfortable. I’m always open to suggestions; if there is something I can do to make you feel more at home, just let me know. I can even help you dial in the tech gadgetry! The Architecture & Feel: I’m a naturalist at heart. You won’t find an artificially curated lawn here; I prefer wild growth that works with the land. I am currently converting the landscape to Minnesota-native pollinating perennials. The backyard path is perfect for exploration, leading down to the bonfire pit, hundreds of perennial tulips, a forested area and a pond filled with wildlife. In the summer, you’ll enjoy this homes privacy—which my pictures can speak better of than me. The house itself matches that spirit. Built in 1965, this well-made home features beautiful Swedish-style hallmarks, vaulted ceilings, and a massive structural beam, paired with modern, updated essentials in the kitchen and baths. Living, Gaming & Audio: The kitchen is wide open, perfect for prepping a meal while keeping the conversation flowing. The dining table doubles as a pool and ping-pong table, so let the games begin. The highlight, though, is the theater room. It’s a reference-grade sound system (NHT T6s, Martin Logan rears/center, Marantz 11.2 processing) with four 12-inch subwoofers built for movie nights and serious gaming. Plus, the whole-house HEOS audio sounds incredible; cranking some vinyl upstairs with those vaulted ceilings creates a concert-like feel. I love sharing these experiences, so just reach out if you need help getting them dialed in. Outdoor Privacy: Because of being built on a hill—and the mature oak trees, the backyard, porches, and deck are nearly completely hidden. It’s a rustic, private space perfect for watching the sunset or enjoying the sounds of your animal friends. Access & Security: While you enjoy the house and backyard, I will be staying in an RV parked on the side of the house behind temporary fencing and big oak trees. Think of me as your groundskeeper, caretaker, or local guide—your pick. I’ll occasionally need to access the garage for my projects, but I keep it minimal. I will always coordinate with you first if I need to do any maintenance or yard work outside to ensure I don't disturb your stay. Note on security: There are cameras pointed at the gated entrances (north and south sides) and the front door; all footage is stored locally. However, the house, the porches, and the entire backyard are 100% camera-free. Your privacy is total.

About the host
Hosted by Brent Hovland
Hi, I’m Brent! I’m a Minnesota local, a special education teacher, and a naturalist who loves building things from the ground up—whether it's fine-tuning a high-fidelity sound system or tackling my next DIY home project. I’m a firm believer in the "lived-in" charm of a real home, and I love sharing my place with travelers who appreciate that same authentic, high-quality vibe. When guests are staying at the house, you’ll find me right next door in my RV, currently working on a restoration project or prepping for my next camping trip. Think of me as your neighbor for the duration of your stay. I’m a big believer in respecting your privacy, but I’m always around if you need a recommendation or help getting the theater system dialed in. I treat my home like it’s yours, and my goal is to make sure you have a fantastic, stress-free stay. I look forward to welcoming you to Kingsview!
Why they chose this property
Plymouth offers the perfect balance of peaceful, nature-filled living and easy access to great local amenities. I love that we are just minutes away from a fantastic network of trails, parks, and lakes—perfect for loading up a kayak for a quick afternoon escape. At the same time, you get a vibrant local community feel, like hitting up the renowned Plymouth Farmer's Market or catching free seasonal live music downtown. We even have an Asian fusion French bakery that is a must try for coffee and treats. It's a quiet, suburban retreat that never feels too far from the action.
What makes this property unique
The Audiophile’s Sanctuary & Tech Playground This isn’t just a rental; it’s a high-fidelity playground. I’ve curated a multi-room audio experience that lets you explore different sonic profiles throughout the house. From the NHT and KEF setups to the precision of Martin Logan and the warmth of Jamo, every room is a new listening experience—all clearly labeled so you can dial in your perfect sound. Visual & Gaming Immersion When you’re not listening, you’re watching. With two 85-inch televisions and a dedicated home theater room featuring reference-grade processing and tactile 4D subwoofers, the immersion is absolute. Whether you’re gaming or watching a movie, the 10-gigabit fiber grid ensures it ’s all high speed Playtime for Everyone I believe a home should be fun, so the space is stocked with a massive library of board games (all visible in the photos and ready for your next tournament). Need a break from the screens? The dining table converts instantly into a pool and ping-pong arena. The Natural Contrast The magic of Kingsview is the balance. You have this, high-tech indoor environment, but step outside and you’re in a quiet, secluded forest-like setting. It’s a native Minnesota perennial sanctuary designed for true decompression. You’re getting the best of both worlds: tech and audio entertainment inside, and a peaceful, natural escape right out the back door. Check out the video tour, see for yourself.
