Charming Older Home
Home has great views of Lake Junaluska & is centrally located on the campus. Close to Maggie Valley & downtown Weaverville. Plenty of furniture for hanging out & although home is holder, the inside was very clean.
A beautiful old house full of memories and antiques and special touches - perfect for all of us, from age 2 to 74 - completely supplied with everything needed to cook, bathe, sleep, and just enjoy the view from the expansive front porch, overlooking Lake Junaluska.

Location, location, location
You can’t beat the views from Holler Cottage. We started each day sitting on the front porch overlooking Lake Junaluska with a cup of tea.
The home has plenty of beds for a family get together, and the kitchen is well appointed.

Come for the view, not the furnishings
We've rented this house twice for a family gathering. Love: the view, the nostalgic feel, the well-equipped kitchen for serving a crowd. Don't love: the beds(!), uncomfortable seating on the porch and living room.

Loved every minute!
Wish we could’ve stayed longer. Loved the character of the home, and the front porch was definitely the highlight with its breathtaking view of the lake! Our kids had a ball. We will definitely be visiting again!
Charming family home with expansive lake view. Feels like staying in grandma’s house, although kitchen and baths have been updated. Kitchen is fully supplied with everything most guests would need for preparing family meals. Very comfortable. I would stay there again.

Awesome weekend in Western NC!
My family and I loved our stay at "Second Wind" and we were blown away by the views! The house was spacious and easily accommodated my family of four and another family of three. The hot tub was clean and easy to use. Our highlights were watching the sunset, cooking, hiking up to the top of mountain (easy, short hike with unbelievable views), driving into Waynesville (cute town!) for day trips, and a morning hike to Midnight Hole just up the road in Great Smokey Mountain National Park. Would definitely come back to place. What a hidden gem!
Everything about this house said that it had been there a long time. The furniture and all of the amenities reflected back to a time gone by. The kitchen and restrooms had been updated.

Perfect spot
House is rich in history, probably built in the 30's. There is a guest book with signatures starting in the early 40's. Lots of neat pictures and antiques. The only negative is both fireplaces are out of order. One was converted to gas and other is a wood burning fireplace. Took a trunk full of firewood with me only to drag it back home with me.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us! We're glad to hear that you found our house to be a perfect spot and enjoyed its rich history and charming antiques. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by both fireplaces being out of order. Your feedback is important to us, and we'll look into resolving this issue promptly. We appreciate your understanding and hope to have the opportunity to host you again in the future.
The house has history you can feel. The view was gorgeous and we spent 95% of our time on the front porch. Unfortunately, while the house was clean, the front porch was not - we had to spend our first hour there cleaning it and already messing up towels. Also, the outside trash cans were already too full for us to use. The close access to the Rose Walk and the amazingly refreshing and serene locale made any pain worth it, though. I do feel I should mention for others who may have epilepsy - the power in the house often has short moments of surges that cause a pulsing blink. All in all ..we plan on returning.

Restful historic cabin
The porch here is beautiful and relaxing. The kitchen is modern and well stocked for cooking, with all the utensils and tools needed. It is oversized and has a nice dining area with a fireplace ( did not try it out.
The furniture is antique. The dining table is a bit wobbly, but was fine even with a fidgety seven-year-old. The formal dining room is like a walk into the past, with beautiful antique furniture. The TV area was comfortable but only has a small couch and three chairs.
The bedrooms were comfortable. The entire upstairs is oder style painted wood plank flooring and quite historic. Both bathrooms had been redone and were very comfortable. The upstairs is a shower only in the downstairs has a tub shower.
Homey, cozy, authentic lake/mountain cabin. There were 4 adults staying, in town for Choir Music weekend at the Lake. We also visted with our former pastor and wife, now living at the Lake full time.
We did have difficulty with the door lock to get in almost every time. The shrubbery needs attention, there is ivy growing out of the chimney, and as with all old places, maintenance could use a review. Kitchen was well stocked, though we had to search for dishwasher tablets and a few other items.
I opened a window in the front bedroom upstairs and could not get it completely closed - you may want to check that out, clode it and lock it. We saw only one roach and one cobweb. I think folks do not stay there too often and it is often enpty. Adorable place, I had been before, glad it was available.
