About this property

3 BRs + Firepit + BBQ + Cornhole | Two Decks | Paso + Hideaway on Oak

Two cottage-style homes share a single lot on a quiet block of Paso Robles, and booking the buyout means both of them are yours. Paso on Oak sits out front, Hideaway on Oak is tucked in behind it, and the garden yard they share runs between the two. Three bedrooms across two front doors is a genuinely useful
setup for a group — everyone's on the same property without being on top of each other, and the early risers and the late-night crew don't have to negotiate.

Paso on Oak takes the front of the lot: a one-bedroom, one-bath cottage with a full kitchen equipped for real cooking rather than just reheating, opening toward a living room built around the TV for a slow morning, a movie, or a game with everyone piled in. The bedroom sits off on its own, which tends to make this the half of the property the group hands to whoever wants the quiet. A deck out front is the spot for first coffee, watching the block wake up before anyone's committed to a plan.

Hideaway on Oak sits behind it, and it's the more tucked-away of the two. Both bedrooms have hardwood floors and queen beds, with a half bath attached to the rear room — an easy fit for two couples or a family of four. The kitchen handles group meals just as capably, the living room is made for kicking back after a long day out, and a private deck off the back is sized for eating outside once the evening cools down.

The yard between the two homes is the real reason to take the whole property. It's fully fenced and grassy, with a propane BBQ station, a gas firepit that lights with the turn of a knob, and Adirondack chairs pulled around it. A long farmer's table anchors the space for shared meals, string lights run overhead for
the after-dinner stretch, and an herb garden, grapevines, and lavender edge the whole thing with the smell of a Central Coast summer. There's cornhole on the lawn for anyone who needs a rivalry.

The location does a lot of the work. Paso Market Walk is about a block away — a short walk for morning coffee, a pastry, or one of the best breakfast burritos in town at Finca. Downtown City Park, the square at the center of Paso Robles, is roughly a half-mile stroll south, ringed by restaurants and independent shops and
busy with farmers markets, concerts, and festivals through the warmer months. Fish Gaucho is on the way for dinner. Beyond downtown, the rolling wine-country hills and farmland of the Central Coast open up in every direction, with Highway 46 running east and west toward the coast and Cambria about forty-five minutes out.

Paso + Hideaway on Oak works for the trips where one unit wouldn't quite do it — two couples plus a third, a small family group, a long weekend where nobody wants to share a wall — and it keeps everyone close enough that the yard fills up on its own every evening.

We came to Paso for a concert at the Mid-State Fair and stayed at this property. The location was great. Our gps said it would be a 20 minute walk to the fair so we took an Uber there instead of walking in the July heat. We decided to walk back after the concert was over since it was cooler outside. It wasn’t a bad walk at all and only took about 12 minutes. As far as the actual property, everything was great, looked just like the pictures, and felt clean. We loved the location and the outdoor space. The only negative we had during our stay was the fact that there is only one wall mounted AC in the living area of each unit. They worked pretty well and kept the living areas of the units cool, but there was no AC in any of the bedrooms. With how hot the weather is in Paso in July, it made it uncomfortably hot in the bedrooms. We found fans in all of the closets so we used those and opened the windows at night. We made it work but we definitely would recommend they put some sort of AC units in the bedrooms. We will still book again in the future because everything else was great, but unless they add more AC units to the bedrooms, we will only book this property during the cooler months.

Thanks for your feedback! We find there may be a couple of weeks with temperatures that require using the bedroom fans during your stay. Everything continues to cool off at night, so we're glad you took advantage of that! We welcome you back anytime. Beth, PasoStay
