Maplewood House — A Waterfront Retreat on Puget Sound
The gardens are a small piece of magic all their own — lush, layered, and framed by water, with the romantic feel of a villa on Lake Como. And when the sun goes down, the fireplace is laid and ready: the perfect spot to gather close, roast s’mores, and watch the moon rise over the Sound.
Ideal for longer stays. Maplewood House welcomes monthly guests, with 30-day-plus rentals available. It’s an especially serene landing spot if you’re remodeling your own home and need a beautiful, restful place to live in the meantime — all the comforts of home, wrapped in the calm of the water.

About the host
Hosted by Eunice O'Neil
I’ve spent a great deal of time living in and visiting Ireland so I love that I can share this gorgeous property as they do there. They open up their homes which allows people to enjoy something they might not have the funds to own but visiting fills their desire.
There’s something deeply satisfying about handing someone the keys to Maplewood House and watching them exhale. I’ve poured years of care into this home — the gardens, the little touches, the lamplight that comes on at dusk — and my favorite part is seeing guests actually use it the way it was meant to be used: paddling out at slack tide, roasting s’mores by the fire, taking a slow morning coffee out to the water.
I love that this place gives people permission to slow down. So many arrive frazzled and leave lighter, and knowing Maplewood offered them that quiet bit of magic is the whole reward. Whether you’re here for a weekend escape or settling in for a month while your own home comes together, my hope is simple: that you feel welcomed, cared for, and completely at ease. Being a host lets me share something I love with people who’ll love it too — and there’s no better feeling than that.
Why they chose this property
Gig Harbor is a gorgeous place to live. Maplewood House is situated in the most amazing neighborhood that is close to town but remote enough.
