Upon a small hill lays the old town of Almuñecar, with narrow streets and typical whitewashed houses. After browsing in the many shops, you can rest at one of the shady places and terraces.
Almuñecar is a perfect spot to enjoy visits to:

• Motril: commercial town and the largest on the Costa Tropical (approx. 30 min.) with golf course next to the seaside
• Sierra Nevada National Park: home of the ski station and the highest mountain in mainland Spain, Mt Mulhacen (approx. 1h15)
