About the host
Hosted by Brittany Estell
We’re Brittany and Nick, a Washington, DC-based couple who created the Chef’s Quarters as a warm, thoughtfully designed home base for guests visiting the city. We love hospitality, good food, and helping people feel comfortable wherever they land, whether they’re here for work, school, medical travel, family, or a weekend exploring DC.
Nick is a chef, so food and local recommendations are a big part of the experience we enjoy sharing. We’re always happy to point guests toward favorite neighborhood spots, great places to eat, grocery options, transportation tips, and anything else that helps make the stay easier.
We designed the space with comfort, privacy, and convenience in mind. Guests have their own private retreat, and while we live on-site/nearby and are available if something is needed, we also respect your privacy and want the space to feel like your own during your stay.
Our goal is simple: to provide a stay that feels easy, welcoming, and well cared for, with thoughtful touches and local insight that make your time in DC more enjoyable. We’re excited to host you and hope the Chef’s Quarters feels like a comfortable home away from home.
Why they chose this property
We chose this neighborhood because it offers a great mix of local DC character, convenience, and access. We love that guests can experience a more residential side of the city while still being close to hospitals, universities, restaurants, grocery options, and downtown DC.
The location is especially convenient for travelers who want an easy home base. There is a bus stop right in front of the house, the Metro is about an 18-minute walk away, and nearby grocery options like Trader Joe’s and the corner bodega make both longer stays and quick trips easy.
We also love that the neighborhood feels connected but not overwhelming. It gives guests space to settle in, relax, and enjoy a more local experience while still being able to explore the city with ease. For us, it felt like the right place to create the Chef’s Quarters: comfortable, accessible, and rooted in real DC living.
