The Loon's Nest sits above the water in serene Hale, Michigan — built for doing absolutely nothing, if that's what you came for. Sink into the hammock, settle in around the smokeless fire pit, or post up on one of two decks and just watch the lake do its thing. There's plenty of room to spread out, whether that means fishing off the dock, paddling out on the SUPs and kayaks, or just lounging until someone finally suggests dinner.



This is a house meant for a full house — family reunions, a group of friends splitting up the bedrooms, or a couple who just wants a lot of space to themselves for a weekend.



Sleeping Arrangements



The house comfortably sleeps a crowd across three bedrooms. The first-floor bedroom has a queen bed and doubles as a quiet workspace, with a desk, monitor, and laptop dock if anyone needs to sneak off for a call. It's a nice option for anyone who wants a little separation from the rest of the group, or needs to get a few hours of work done before rejoining everyone at the lake.



Upstairs, you'll find two more bedrooms sharing a bathroom with a tub. One room holds two queen beds plus a rollaway and a pullout single, which makes it flexible for families or larger groups who need extra sleeping space without anyone ending up on the couch. The second upstairs bedroom has a full bed and a quieter, more tucked-away feel. A smaller TV is set up in the upstairs queen room, so if half the group wants to wind down with a movie while the other half stays up by the fire, everyone's covered.



Inside the House



The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking real meals or just keeping the coffee going — stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and a refrigerator, plus both a Keurig and a French press for however you take your coffee in the morning. It's a kitchen built for actually using, whether that's a full dinner after a day on the water or just toast and coffee before everyone heads down to the dock.



The dining room and living room open onto each other, making it easy for the group to spread out or come together depending on the moment. The living room has a smart TV set up through Roku, so you can log into your own Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, or YouTube and pick up right where you left off at home. On cooler nights the wood-burning fireplace is fully functional and ready to go, with firewood stocked at street level behind the shed and again on the mid-level deck, so you're never far from a fresh supply.



Just inside the entrance, the laundry room comes stocked with detergent and dryer sheets, so that's one less thing to pack. The room also holds a cabinet of everyday essentials — extra toilet paper, paper towels, a first aid kit, bug spray, tissues, and cleaning supplies — plus a baby gate if you're traveling with little ones who need a little extra containment around the stairs or kitchen. Central air conditioning runs throughout the house, so even on the warmest summer days, you've got a cool, comfortable place to retreat to.



Outside



This is really where the house earns its keep. Two decks give you options depending on the sun, the breeze, and the view you're chasing at any given hour. Morning coffee on upper deck, sunset drinks closer to the lake — your call. The hammock is exactly where you'd hope to find it, strung up and waiting for the moment you finally stop checking your phone. The smokeless fire pit means evenings around the fire without the smoky clothes and hair the next morning — just the fire, the dark, and the sound of the lake.



Down at the water, you've got a private dock, kayaks, and SUPs ready to go. Bring your fishing rod, your sunscreen, or just yourself and a good book. Getting down to the water means a walk along 75 stairs, so it's worth planning for — especially with younger kids, anyone with mobility considerations, or after dark when the path is harder to see.

Reliable WiFi runs throughout the house, so you can stream, get a little work done, or stay fully off the grid — entirely your call. There are 3 parking spots for your vehicles in the driveway. We'll send over entry instructions ahead of your stay so you're all set the moment you pull in.
