About this property
Frankenwald Lodge
ED Refnr. 3146878
The detached holiday home is very quietly located in a side street of the Döbra district, with a direct view of meadows and forests. An extensive network of hiking trails starts right next to the holiday home. The Döbraberg, the highest elevation in the Franconian Forest at almost 795 metres, can be reached on foot in approx. 20 minutes. On the Döbraberg there is a viewing tower (Prinz-Luitpold-Turm) from which you have a magnificent view over the Franconian Forest, to the Fichtelgebirge and as far as the Vogtland.
There is also a mountain bike centre nearby, as well as a cross-country skiing centre in winter, and the alpine ski lift (Bergwiesenlift Schwarzenbach am Wald) is only 3 km away.
The Franconian Forest is characterised by unspoilt nature, down-to-earth people and is a low mountain cultural landscape in the north of Bavaria, in Upper Franconia, district of Hof.
The Frankenwald Lodge was completely refurbished in a modern, cosy style at the end of 2021. Great importance was attached to local regional natural materials such as spruce and oak wood, as well as real slate from the Franconian Forest,
WLAN is available throughout the house. The entire house is equipped with electric roller blinds. There are also fly screen doors on the 2 patio doors on the south side. You enter the hallway with a cloakroom and storage space for shoes and then enter the open-plan kitchen, dining and living area through the sliding door.
The living area is characterised by its spaciousness, as the ceiling is open right up to the roof and you can only see the old original wooden beams from the original ceiling. There is a wood-burning stove in the living room, which you can heat up at any time on cool evenings or in the cold season for cosy evenings for two. Firewood is of course available. In the living area there is a cosy corner couch from which you can watch the large Smart TV, which is connected to the internet. There is also a dining table with 4 chairs in the open-plan living/dining and kitchen area. The wine fridge is also located at the back of the kitchen island. The open-plan U-shaped kitchen with island solution is equipped with high-quality brand appliances, including an induction hob with integrated extractor fan. The kitchen also has a fully integrated dishwasher, a built-in microwave oven and a fridge with a small freezer compartment. The waste drawer is designed for waste separation. A high-quality genuine granite worktop is installed in the kitchen. Other appliances such as a fully automatic coffee machine, toaster, kettle, egg cooker etc. are of course also available.
From the open-plan living area, a sliding door leads into the bedroom with a large box-spring bed (180 x 200 cm). There is a guest safe in the wardrobe. There is also space to store suitcases in the bedroom. You can also access the spacious outdoor terrace from the bedroom through the patio door. The photo wallpaper behind the bed is reminiscent of a foggy morning in the Franconian Forest. From the bedroom, a sliding door with barn door fittings leads to the Franconian Forest bathroom, which is fitted with genuine Franconian Forest slate on the floor and in the shower area. The rainshower shower is barrier-free and at ground level - without a step. The bathroom also has a toilet and washbasin with a large old wood mirror and nostalgic pendant lights. Naturally, the entire ceiling in the bathroom is fitted with energy-saving LED spotlights. There is a hairdryer in the bathroom cabinet. In addition to the underfloor heating, there is also an extra towel radiator in the bathroom. The utility room can also be accessed from the bedroom. There is even a guest washing machine.
The Frankenwald Lodge has a private wellness area for exclusive use. The whirlpool, heated all year round, and a Finnish sauna invite you to relax and unwind. There is also an additional outdoor shower in the covered, open outdoor area, which can be used from spring to autumn. The same applies to the electric barbecue. There are also 2 seating areas where you can use the real sheepskins for cosy seating. The covered outdoor area is adjoined by a spacious terrace on the south side of the house, which is out of sight. There are 2 sun loungers, a parasol and an outdoor seating area for chilling out and relaxing - cushions for sun loungers and outdoor chairs can be found in a box on the terrace.
1 guest car park at the house and 2 further guest car parks in the adjoining meadow are available exclusively for our guests.
At the guest car park directly at the house is also the rubbish house with various bins and there is also the wallbox as an e-charging station for e-vehicles.
To the right of the front door is the guest storage room in the wooden extension. There are also charging facilities for e-bikes and a lockable room for bicycles, ski equipment, guest equipment, etc.
The private terrace and garden area is for our guests only.
The Frankenwald Lodge is designed for sustainability and environmental awareness.
A photovoltaic system on the roof produces its own electricity, which is also stored in its own electricity storage unit. The whirlpool and hot water are heated electrically using this energy.
Emission-free heating with electric underfloor heating throughout the house further contributes to the environmentally friendly use of resources.
Only the wood-burning stove, which is heated with well-seasoned firewood for cosy evenings on long winter evenings, releases a few emissions.
All switches and thermostats in the house are digital and equipped with the latest technology.
All windows and patio doors are triple-glazed for further energy savings.
All lights are energy-saving LED lights.
There is also a wallbox with e-charging station for electric vehicles, as well as a lockable charging facility for e-bikes.

In the village of D öbra itself there is a bakery, a small butcher's shop and a country inn, all within 400-500 m walking distance of the holiday home.
The llama farm is only about 2 km away. You can book llama hikes there.
There is also the "Höllental" in the Franconian Forest - an idyllic hiking area with the "Teufelssteg" and the "Hirschsprung".
Towards Kronach, between Steinwiesen and Nordhalben, lies the Ködel dam, also known as the "Franconian fjord". A 12 km long tarmac circular hiking trail or cycle path circles the Franconian fjord.
The state spa Bad Steben with a beautiful thermal bath including a very nice sauna area, as well as the Bavarian casino Bad Steben, is only approx. 15 km away.
Another beautiful hiking area is the Steinachklamm gorge between Presseck and Stadtsteinach.
If you want to take a trip by car, Bayreuth with the Margravial Opera House or the Richard Wagner Festival Theatre, as well as the Bayreuth Hermitage, a wonderful baroque garden, are also worth a visit.
Kulmbach, "the world capital of beer" can also be reached by car in approx. 45 minutes. There is also Kronach with the Rosenberg fortress and the medieval "Upper Town".
Another highlight - not so far away - is "Mödlareuth" - the divided village, which at the time of the German Democratic Republic belonged half to East Germany and half to West Germany and where the zone border ran right through.
Today it also houses the German-German Museum with many relics from the GDR era.
You will find many other interesting excursion destinations in our guest folder directly in the holiday home.
