About this property

Private Farmhouse on Peaceful Guemes Island

Unwind in our bright 3-bedroom + loft farmhouse, nestled on serene Guemes Island just a short ferry from Anacortes. Perfect for families and outdoor enthusiasts, our home offers cozy living, a fully equipped kitchen, and easy access to beaches, hiking trails, and island charm. Whether you’re exploring tidepools, kayaking, or simply soaking in the quiet, this is your island escape.

The space
The home features:

Bedroom 1: Queen bed + walk-in closet

Bedroom 2: Queen bed

Bedroom 3: Full bed + Twin bed

Loft: Twin bed + Full futon

Enjoy a fully equipped kitchen, laundry room, and a bright living room stocked with board games and books. There’s one bathroom with a charming clawfoot tub. Fast Wi-Fi keeps you connected — but no TV, so you can truly unplug and enjoy island life.

Guest access
Guests have full access to the entire farmhouse and 15-acre property. Enjoy 5 acres of open pasture adjacent to a neighboring cow pasture, plus 10 acres of peaceful forest perfect for exploring. Relax in the hammocks, gather around the firepit, and take in the quiet beauty of Guemes Island.

Other things to note
This home has been in our family for over 15 years and has long been a favorite retreat for friends and loved ones. We're delighted to share it with guests looking for a peaceful island getaway.

The beach is about half a mile from the house. Many guests enjoy the scenic walk (about 10 minutes for adults and older kids), especially on crisp mornings or golden evenings. There's also convenient parking near the ferry terminal just a two-minute drive away, making beach visits, sunset strolls, tide pooling, and shoreline exploring easy and relaxed.

Guemes Island shines in late summer and fall. Warm days are perfect for beachcombing, biking the island's quiet roads, kayaking the Salish Sea (bring your kayak), or enjoying a picnic by the water. As autumn arrives, the island becomes quieter, with changing leaves, cozy evenings, spectacular sunsets, and excellent opportunities to spot seals, seabirds, and occasionally whales. Feel free to ask us for trusted local recommendations—including a guest discount code for guided whale watching experiences.

Traveling with little ones? The house is well equipped with a pack-and-play, high chair, extra bedding, and floor mats for sleeping or play. A collapsible wagon is also available for beach trips or ferry walks into Anacortes—perfect for hauling gear, snacks, and beach treasures.

The wide-open property offers peaceful surroundings, fresh island air, and beautiful starry skies on clear nights. Gather around the fire pit (weather and burn restrictions permitting), enjoy meals outdoors, listen for owls at dusk, or simply relax with a good book. Whether you're visiting for one last taste of summer or a quiet fall retreat, we hope you'll find the slower pace of island life just what you need.

A few tips to help you prepare: Guemes is a wonderfully remote island. We recommend bringing groceries with you from home or Anacortes before taking the ferry, as the Guemes Island General Store has limited hours and offers a restaurant with live music on select days. Schoolhouse Park is a favorite spot for families, with swings, tennis and pickleball courts (bring your own rackets and balls), and open space to play.

The farmhouse was cute and in a nice location. The General Store is a 10 minute walk away. One suggestion is to check the General Store events website to see if a band is playing. If so, you'll have to buy a ticket for the show if you want to eat at the restaurant after 6 pm. There is plenty of room for dogs to run at the property. The house has a great tub for a soak after enjoying the evening outside or at one of the beaches on the island. The host Annalisa is very responsive to questions.
