The new wooden cottage, intended as a retirement home for its owners, is ideal for people who want to retreat to a peaceful setting and enjoy nature. A hammock and a hanging chair on the upper floor offer a fantastic view of the “Klosterfilz” nature reserve, where wildlife such as deer, roe deer, and foxes can be spotted at certain times. Green woodpeckers, thrushes, red-backed shrikes, and many other birds can also be seen in the green spaces in front of the house. The “Kreuzotter” hiking trail runs right past the house. The nearest cross-country ski trail is just 100 metres away, and the Lusen National Park Centre is also within walking distance—a little over two hours—so feel free to leave your car in the parking spot. The ground floor of our little wooden house has everything you need for your stay: a kitchen-living room, a bedroom, a shower, and a toilet. With a fully equipped kitchen featuring a gas stove, oven, fridge-freezer, a cosy Swedish stove, and a washing machine in the bathroom, it’s a comfortable place to stay any time of year. The large lounge on the upper floor also features two futons that could accommodate two additional guests if needed. A separate toilet with a sink rounds out the amenities. In the garden, you’ll find two raised garden beds, a lawn where you can comfortably build a fire in a large grill tray, and not far from the entrance, we’ve created a small pond where you can observe all kinds of aquatic life. Note: We made a conscious decision not to include a TV in the holiday home. Wi-Fi is available. Our house is located a short distance from St. Oswald, between the Bavarian Forest National Park and the “Klosterfilz” nature reserve, which borders directly on our meadows. “Almost like being in Canada” is a common comment from our guests. Not far from the main house, you can rent our small, cosy wooden cottage as a holiday home. Completed in 2022, this gem offers an unobstructed view directly of the Klosterfilz Nature Reserve. Outside, you can use the large grill tray for campfires. The “Kreuzotter” hiking trail passes not far from the cottage, and a cross-country ski trail is within walking distance—so you can leave your car in the parking spot.
