Welcome to our ocean-view apartment in the heart of Camara de Lobos! From every room, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the ocean, the fishing village, and the sprawling banana plantations on the hillsides behind the property. The apartment has been specially furnished for holiday rentals and as a place to work (long-term stay). The apartment features Wi-Fi (for holiday guests) and an lift.
This fully furnished 2-room apartment with east-south and west-facing balconies, 1 bedroom, and 1 full bathroom is located in the heart of the small fishing village of Camara de Lobos, on the edge of the old town centre and in close proximity to the shopping district with cafes, bars, and restaurants. The supermarket and other shops are located across the street; the market hall is a 1-minute walk away; and the ocean (harbour or pebble beach) is just a 5-minute walk away.
Built in 1996, the apartment is spacious and, thanks to its lift, is suitable for wheelchair users (visitors). It is located on the 2nd floor.
Thanks to large balcony doors facing east and south with lockable shutters, the apartment is very bright and airy and provides shade during hot summer temperatures. Therefore, air conditioning is not necessary. In addition, the apartment features a large, sunny wraparound terrace so you can sunbathe from morning to evening. Due to the sun’s position, you’ll usually have a shaded spot available as well.
The apartment has 1 bedroom (1 bedroom with a 150 bed) featuring a built-in closet and a linen chest, as well as 1 full bathroom, providing ample space for 2 people.
The kitchen is very bright and fully equipped. In addition to an oven, you’ll find a microwave, a refrigerator with a freezer compartment, and a washing machine—but no dishwasher. The built-in range hood (pull out the flap) is easy to use and features under-cabinet lighting.
The living room is divided into a dining and work area and a lounge area with two sofas and a TV (available from the end of March). A printer can be provided for longer-term rentals. We have intentionally chosen not to include a TV, as the region has so much to offer.

Although the apartment is located right in the centre, it’s pleasantly quiet at night. In the morning, you’re usually woken up by birdsong.
You don’t really need a car in Camara de Lobos, as there are excellent bus connections to Funchal and the surrounding villages (€1.20 per ride).

A few house rules are important to ensure that other guests also have a pleasant stay:
- Please be considerate (noise).
- Please always take off your outdoor shoes when entering the apartment, as the hardwood floors are prone to scratches.
- Please close the shutters when the sun is strong and bring the cushions inside, as the fabrics will otherwise fade very quickly.
- Please always lock the apartment door securely when you leave.
