About this property

Designer Loft Steps from River, Dining & Brewery in Stockton

Enjoy your stay at the Stockton Star Loft, providing a unique starting point, in the perfect Stockton location. Step outside and choose your adventure. Turn left and cross the street to one of the region’s most unique experiences: Odd Bird Brewing, a microbrewery tucked inside a working gas station. Turn right and stroll one block into the heart of town for exquisite fine dining at the historic Stockton Inn, or catch live music and the inspired cuisine of Chef Tod “the Mod” at The Starving Artist Café. Staying here for a wedding? We are walking distance to every wedding venue in town!

Prefer nature? Walk one block west to the Delaware River, or head out the back to the towpath that runs right behind the property. It couldn’t be easier to explore on foot - but if you hop in your car, even more awaits. Enjoy the most picturesque drives to the renowned river towns of Lambertville and New Hope (just 3 miles away), or reach Frenchtown and Milford within 30 minutes. Stop at Federal Twist Vineyard just 2.4 miles up the road (a beautiful walk or bike ride along the towpath!), browse shops in Peddler’s Village five miles away, or tour 13 historic covered bridges within 30 miles. From summer kayaking and tubing, to brilliant fall foliage and winter festivals, this location shines year-round. Your host Heather has lived in the area for over 30 years and is the ultimate local guide.

About the Loft

The Stockton Star has been beautifully restored by Heather and John with thoughtful design and elegant comfort in mind. Neutral tones, custom wood countertops, stylish architectural details, and a warm aesthetic create a space that feels relaxing, inviting, and refined. The bedroom is so comfortable you might need to set an alarm - or risk sleeping right through the day. But with so much to explore just outside your door, you won’t want to miss a thing.

An ideal getaway for couples, business travelers, solo guests, and creatives seeking a peaceful, stylish retreat in the heart of Stockton.

Bedroom

As mentioned, you may have a hard time getting out of this elegant bedroom! Relax on the queen bed with crisp linens and cozy coverlets, basking in the soft, filtered eastern light. Discover the “secret” reading nook, perfect for getting in touch with your childhood self, and “hiding” - curled up with a new favorite book by a local author or exploring the thoughtfully curated list of local activities and hidden gems that Heather and John have prepared just for you.

Bathroom

Unwind in style in the thoughtfully designed bathroom, featuring an antique ¾ tub perfect for extra deep, luxurious soaks. Fresh towels, chic fixtures, and subtle details create a serene atmosphere, making it the ideal spot to relax after a day exploring Stockton, strolling the towpath, or enjoying the nearby breweries and restaurants.

Kitchen, Living & Work Area

When John and Heather designed the open-concept kitchen, living, and work area, they had couples, solo travelers, business guests, and creatives in mind. John is the chef, and Heather is the “talker” (or “entertainer,” as she likes to say), so they crafted a kitchen with exactly what a chef would need: sharp knives, perfect cookware, and a reliable coffee maker. A raw-edge island provides the perfect spot for the “entertainer” to sit with a glass of wine while they unwind and chat - or simply relax together.

Of course, that’s only if you even decide to cook! Because with the number of incredible restaurants nearby, you may never turn the stove on! Heather and John are happy to share their favorite “living rooms” around town, where locals and travelers alike gather to eat, sip, laugh, and unwind.

The living area is equally thoughtful, designed for singles and couples to disappear into comfort on the couch with a movie, a book, or quiet solitude. The raw-edge counter also doubles as a workstation: sit up beside the window, and take a moment to gaze out over the town, and let inspiration - or peace - come naturally.

Guest Access

Guests have two parking spaces and their own private front entrance to the loft. The front of the property is yours to enjoy - sip a glass of wine in the Adirondack chairs under the Japanese maple, and wave hello to locals and holiday strollers walking to the brewery. Or savor a coffee brought back from the nearby Stockton Market, which has something for everyone (and then some!).

Why they chose this property

Just 3 miles north of Lambertville/New Hope, alongside the Delaware River, sits the tiny hamlet of Stockton. This tranquil town has a yesteryear feel, with Victorian-era buildings enjoying new lives as inns, restaurants and live music venues. The Delaware River runs alongside Stockton as does the Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park and its top-notch recreational facilities. The D&R Canal is 44 miles long, with a rail-to-trail path running its length. In Stockton, the 19th-century Prallsville Mills (part of the D&R Canal) includes original saw, grist and linseed mills and the John Pralls Jr. Historic Manor House.

There’s so much to do in the Delaware River Valley and countless unique treasures to discover. Be sure to save a morning to wander the Golden Nugget Flea Market. You never know what hidden gem you might find! From scenic river walks and charming small towns to breweries, fine dining, and seasonal festivals, the area is full of experiences waiting for you.

Your hosts, Heather and John, are happy to help you uncover the best spots, so don’t hesitate to reach out if there’s anything in particular you want to explore. They know all the local secrets!

Discover why we call this the Star of Stockton – where design, charm, and an unbeatable location come together.
