"Hi there and welcome!" says Ekke 1, a 100-square-meter, 4-room holiday apartment that spans the ground floor, ground floor, and attic, located in a small holiday apartment complex in the quieter northern part of Westerland. It includes a share of the garden and a private terrace with furniture and a beach chair, as well as an on-site parking space and a small balcony on the upper floor that actually offers a view of the sea. And “Ekke 1” has plenty to offer on the inside as well, with two bathrooms—one of which includes a washing machine/dryer—and three bedrooms featuring two double beds, two single beds, and a cot. The country-style living room even features one of those typical Nordic wood-burning stoves and underfloor heating; the decor is light, airy, and welcoming. The fact that the elegant kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, ceramic cooktop, cappuccino machine, and oven perfectly complements the home’s style. The apartment is located in a quiet area yet close to the beach; it’s just a good five-minute walk to the beach from here, no more than ten minutes to city centre, and there’s a bakery right nearby.
