Our house is located in the heart of the hamlet Caino, which is part of the small village Vercana . Vercana is located above the resort town of Domaso in the northern part of Lake Como.

Vercana is known throughout Lake Como as a place with breathtaking views of the lake.

Caino is accessible via a well-maintained road, just over 1 km from the centre of Vercana. Vercana offers good basic amenities, including two supermarkets and two restaurants. Two larger supermarkets, as well as about 15 restaurants, are located right in Domaso, which also features a roughly 2-km-long lakeside promenade with a sunbathing area right on the lake. Domaso also features a surf school with a rental station, as well as a well-developed marina where sailboats and motorboats can be rented.

From Colico (on the opposite side of the lake), you can reach Milano-Centrale by train in just over an hour. A visit to Milan is always worthwhile.

Casa Marie is located in the heart of Caino and has been completely restored with love and high-quality materials—using natural stone—just like many other houses in the village. From there, you can head straight out onto the hiking trails into nature. Since cars are parked in the lot on the outskirts of Caino, the village itself is absolutely quiet and peaceful. The house is reached via a natural-stone-paved footpath just under 100 m away. An ideal place for relaxation, hiking, mountain biking, and trips to the lake for swimming. A handcart is available for our guests to transport their luggage.

Casa Marie offers ample space for up to 6 people and has 3 floors.

On the ground floor is the well-equipped kitchen-living room with a gas stove, oven, coffee maker, microwave, toaster, pots, pans, and cooking utensils. Of course, there are plenty of dishes, glasses, and silverware for all 7 guests.

A small hallway leads to the bathroom with a shower, toilet, and washing machine. Next to it is the utility and storage room, which is also accessible from the outside and can be used, for example, to store bicycles you’ve brought with you. There is also a clothes dryer here.

The stairs in the kitchen-diner lead to the ground floor with a living room (pull-out sofa measuring 140 x 200 cm), which can also be used as a sleeping area. Directly in front of the living room is the balcony with a view of Lake Como. Next to the living room is a spacious bathroom with a bidet and natural light, as well as a bedroom with a king-size bed (box spring 180 x 200 cm). From the bed, you have a direct view of the lake.

On the second floor there is another bedroom with a queen-size bed (box spring 160 x 200 cm), a single bed (box spring 90 x 200 cm), and a magnificent view of the lake. Next to it is another bathroom with a toilet, bidet, and shower, which features a skylight. From the hallway on the second floor, you can access the rooftop terrace with a view of the lake and the Vercana mountains.

The rooftop terrace, measuring approximately 15 m², offers plenty of space for all guests and is equipped with comfortable chairs, a table, and a sunshade. An ideal spot to relax, enjoy a meal, or unwind on a beautiful sunny day.

The house is entirely at the guests’ disposal, as there are no other apartments in the building.

The beds offer the utmost sleeping comfort. All fixed beds are box-spring beds equipped with high-quality toppers. Each guest is provided with a down comforter and two pillows (80x80 + 80x40).

The house has high-speed internet, which can be accessed via Wi-Fi. The dining room, living room, and the bedroom on the 1st floor are equipped with a TV. The TVs offer DVB-T reception for Italian television. German-language programmes are also available via Smart TV functions.

The entire house, including the stairs, has tile floors.

A hair dryer is provided in all bathrooms. A sufficient supply of towels, shower gel, and soap is provided.

The house has gas central heating. Each room has a radiator.

Important Information

Access to the house is only possible on foot!

One baby cot is available upon advance request (at the time of booking). It will be set up with a mattress and fitted sheet at the time of booking. Additional bedding is not provided for the baby cot, as in our experience, guests usually bring their own baby sleeping bag.
