The half-timbered granary, more than 400 years old—...a relaxing holiday! Nestled within the sturdy old oak half-timbering! Our incredibly cosy granary was once used to store grain. This historic building, dating back to 1606, is more than 400 years old and is likely one of the oldest structures in the Südheide region! The granary is located on our former farm in the old village of Nordburg and was converted into a holiday home in the 1970s, with great care taken to preserve the original structure. As a result, the ancient, massive oak half-timbered beams can be admired from the inside, contributing to an extraordinary, rustic, and beautiful living experience. The large window front on the ground floor lets plenty of light and the “surroundings” into the interior. The house is lovingly and fully furnished and features direct access to the terrace. Cosy, bright living room with a fully equipped kitchen and dishwasher; 2 bedrooms. Access to the children’s bedroom with 3 single beds in the attic is via a fairly steep pull-out ladder. Shower/toilet, satellite TV, and free Wi-Fi, central heating, a cot, and a grill are provided. The open kitchenette is fully equipped with a dishwasher, convection oven, ceramic cooktop, and refrigerator with freezer compartment. A coffee maker, electric kettle, and toaster are also provided. Children are always welcome and can enjoy themselves in the “Villa Kunterbunt” playhouse, on the swing, the climbing tower with a slide, or in the sandpit. Our guests have access to the well-maintained courtyard with a play area and lawn for sunbathing. In the cosy garden, you can watch the local birds and, right from the terrace, observe the starlings on August evenings as they gather in flocks to fly to their roosting trees. The holiday home is located just about 100 metres from the stream. Bed linens and towels can be booked for an additional fee. Your dog is, of course, welcome too. A warm welcome to the southern Lüneburg Heath region. The small village of Nordburg has only about 150 residents. The Celler Land region is known for its well-developed network of hiking and biking trails through the varied meadows, forests, and heathlands, as well as along the Aller River. The “Allerradweg” offers particularly beautiful routes for cyclists here. For a leisurely stroll, take a drive to Celle (17 km) with its historic half-timbered old town. Other excursion destinations include, for example, the famous Wienhausen Monastery (6 km), Walsrode Bird Park (70 km), Serengeti Park Hodenhagen (60 km), Hanover Zoo (50 km), Heidepark Soltau (75 km), the Gifhorn Mill Museum (30 km), Autostadt and the Wolfsburg Designer Outlet (45 km), and the Lüneburg Heath. We look forward to your visit to the monastery community of Wienhausen, Nordburg district, in the Celler Land region!
