About this property
Charming 18th century Breton farmhouse in a quiet location
Charming 18th century Breton farmhouse in a quiet location with a large garden, beautifully renovated and close to beaches:
Located in a green setting, surrounded by a 3300 m² garden with old fruit trees, this old farmhouse with character impresses with exposed stone walls.
It is an 18th century manor house consisting of a ground floor and 2 floors.
There are 9 rooms in total: 6 bedrooms with 8 beds (16 people), 4 bathrooms, a kitchen, living room, a mezzanine.
There are also 3 outbuildings: these include a bread oven, a stable and a barn.
A place full of history in an area rich in legends, fantastic and stimulating, relaxing and regenerating, inviting you to dream.
The garden faces south, but also offers beautiful lights and atmospheres at sunrise and sunset, often magically shrouded in light mist. Brittany experiences brightly lit full moon nights (with red moons in summer), the clear and star-studded night sky allows you to see as far as the Milky Way.
The garden and orchard are home to palm trees, pear trees, cherry trees and olive trees. Delicious apple juice is pressed from the farm's own apples.
The farmhouse is close to the river and the forest, just 3 minutes walk from the famous GR34 hiking trail (Chemin des Douaniers); the sea and the beautiful Atlantic coastal beaches are 5 minutes by car or 15 minutes by bike on cycle paths (to Loctudy, Lesconil or the wild Pointe de La Torche).
In the surrounding Breton towns you will find restaurants serving crêpes and cider and many heritage sites (Pont-l'Abbé, Quimper, Locronan, Pont Aven and others).
A magical place ideal for the big family or larger groups!

We had a very pleasant time at Kermenhir, a five-day stay for a three-generation family of 12, ranging from 1 year to 85 years old a small dog. The host was very helpful via WhatsApp messages and instructions were clear. The house was as expected from the listing and its sitting room with magnificent fireplace and wood-burner (much used, thank you for the firewood) is a bonus. We liked the secluded garden, even though the Breton climate was cool for mid-May.Everything was available in the house, as it is very much a lived-in house. On a slightly less positive note, there was in fact too much in the house (but perhaps we are used to less cluttered environments) and some things could have been tidied away (e.g. from the breakfast sideboard and the wood-burner could have been swept beforehand).Overall, a good experience if you are a group who likes a homely feel rather than an impersonal holiday rental. Merci YvesMadeleine
