Our house is located at the foot of the Walmberg, in a quiet area just a few minutes’ walk from the town centre, the outdoor pool, and the spa gardens. In the summer, it serves as a central starting point for many hiking trails. In winter, a ski school, children’s ski programme, cross-country ski trails, and winter hiking trails are all nearby.

Reit im Winkl, a climatic health resort. According to Wikipedia, the designation “climatic health resort” is awarded to "awarded to towns whose air and climate, according to an expert assessment, possess characteristics that are beneficial for recreation and health. Reit im Winkl was designated a climatic health resort in 1956 and has consistently met the requirements for this designation ever since through its ongoing efforts. For one thing, its high elevation ensures that summer heat is moderated and nights remain pleasantly cool. The town is surrounded by extensive mountain forests of the Chiemgau Alps and, in terms of its general climate, belongs to the “Bavarian Alps” climate region. The character of the weather is decisively determined by the local conditions—that is, by the influence of the mountain ranges and valleys on weather patterns. In addition to the natural conditions that ensure good air quality, we actively work to preserve the fresh mountain air by utilising natural heat and providing ample bus service.
