Excellent , room was nice and reasonably priced, I guess. Bed could be better, an electric kettle or Keurig would be an improvement. Patio doors need an upgrade to open, close, and lock. One chair should be replaced.

First time in Maui

We had a great trip to Maui. The condo had everything we needed for our 13 day stay. King bed is comfortable, with a good mattress. Bathroom is dated but everything works well. It was missing a cooler to pack for the beach, but management brought a new one over the next day. Condo also has beach chairs which we used when we visited some other beaches in the area. The 2 Pools here are nice and clean with a lot of lounge chairs also each pool area has a clean hot tub. There is a restaurant on site, with a walk up bar from the outside. There is a food truck park right beside the resort, and other places to eat within walking distance. Overall we had a nice stay.

Location was amazing.

While the location of the property was where we wanted we did think based in pictures and booking criteria that we would be on the water. As it was we had a small view over a parking lot. Instead of waves we heard cars and horns. It was great to have a washer & dryer, the sofa was comfortable and the pools were nice. Location was great with walking distance to food trucks, coffee, grocery and ABC!

Such a great place!

Property managers were excellent in making arrangements for us to come in a day earlier than we expected. Communication and check in were super easy! Condo is well-maintained although the bathroom just needs some updating. The grounds of the resort are absolutely stunning! Two great pools and a great coffee shop down in the lobby! Our favorite part about this condo was the location! Walking distance to everything you need! Grocery store, restaurants, and the food truck park! Condo also has great TVs with good cable for the days you just want to lay around and be lazy on vacation! We would definitely stay here again!

The property grounds are very clean. The room itself is dated, the oven was terrible, cooking supplies are very poor quality and the patio door was extremely difficult to open and close. Outside of all of that it was very roomy and comfortable ( the sofa bed needs updating). Loved all the extra items like beach chairs. It stated there was a cooler for use but we never found it and we did replace the broken beach umbrella we found so it is available for the next guest. There was enough laundry supplies for 8 loads which was plenty, we never ran out of trash bags or dishwashing supplies and the limited amount of spices was a nice find to have!

The place had bugs all over the kitchen. Left a pineapple out for about 10 mins and it was swarmed with bugs. The sliding glass door didn’t open properly. The toilet didn’t flush well and the shower didn’t drain.

Cockroaches - Do not book this property

My wife and I stayed here for a few nights before realizing this place was infested with cockroaches. Since the windows and doorwalls don't fully seal, it's a nightmare. We ended up leaving partway through our stay and the property manager insisted this was a new problem despite several prior reviews mentioning these issues. Do yourself a favor and don't book this place. We overlooked the reviews and (literally) paid the price for it.

I was assured everything was resolved when we issued you a refund when you asked to be placed somewhere else with a better view. I am sorry you think that there is a pest issue, it is a tropical island and we do ask in your arrival information to keep all food in the fridge and/or microwave. Lovely location, but condo needs updating.

Very nice location, but the condo was outdated and missing lots. The kitchen was missing essential utensils, and there was a cockroach on the counter. The condo did not many beach amenities (chairs, umbrella, cooler, etc..). It also did not have an instructional manual in the condo. We would stay at Kaanapali Shores again, but we will be choosing a different condo next time.

We loved hosting you and appreciate your suggestions. The kitchens are equipped with all the basic dishware, pots and pans and utensils. We are open to suggestions if something you consider essential was missing from our inventory. There is a cooler and beach chairs in the condo for guests use. Unfortunately, we do not provide umbrellas because they can be dangerous if not secured properly with our tradewinds. The location is incredible. Kaanapali Shores does regular pest control exterior and interior. We all do our best to control any unwanted visitors in our tropical environment. The condo is as depicted in the photos of the listing that you booked through. Again, suggestions for improvements to decor are welcome. Returning to Maui was worth it!

The online listing was exactly as they listed. Often the pictures are misleading. This one was exactly as indicates. We knew what to expect. The unit was what I would describe as "tired", due to the age of the resort. It did not hamper our stay. We came to Hawaii to be by the ocean and to enjoy the sunshine, not to stay in doors. The number one thing we look for in a resort is safety and convenience. This unit provided us with this. It is perfectly located close to grocery stores, food trucks, the beach, hotel lounges, the ocean front boardwalk, and so much more. With our current Canadian dollar, this unit is excellent value for the money. We appreciated how easy it was to deal with the management company and the resort. Our overall experience on our trip was perfect. We have come back to Canada relaxed, rested, and refocused. Thank you! We would like to recommend this unit as a budget friendly unit to anyone.

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Number one reason to rent a place to stay is to sleep. Not happening here. This bed is horrible. After our first night lumpiness, I searched reviews for this rental on sites other than expedia and found that this has been a problem for over 2 YEARS. I contacted the management and was told "they would let the owners know". Lot of good that did me. Pretty sure the owners "already knew". The rest of the condo is adequate. The sliding door has lost its seal and whistles anytime the wind blows.

Disappointing Stay Due to Cleanliness and Communication Issues

While we looked forward to our stay in Maui, our experience with this rental property was unfortunately marred by significant cleanliness issues and poor communication from the management company.To be fair, some of the most important surfaces were clean upon our arrival. The bedding was fresh, the bed itself was comfortable, and the bathroom floors and toilet were clean. The kitchen countertops were also wiped down.However, beyond these initial surfaces, the lack of deep cleaning was apparent and unsettling. In the bathroom, the fan vent was caked with thick dust, and the shower fixture had a very visible layer of mineral buildup. On the vanity, a fake flower scent diffuser was coated in dust and tangled with hair. The kitchen was no better; the container of utensils (tongs, spatulas, etc.) next to the stove was greasy and dusty, as was the side of the refrigerator.Our discomfort was amplified on the first day when we discovered German cockroaches in and around the oven. A rental company associate did come to spray, but the problem persisted throughout our stay. The presence of pests, combined with the other dirty areas, made us question the overall hygiene of the property and left us feeling uneasy.Compounding these issues was a complete lack of effective communication. We sent questions to the rental company via the VRBO chat and received no response. Furthermore, the information provided to us via email about fees was incorrect and misleading. We were told to expe

Throughout the duration of your stay, we did not receive any communication from you regarding cleanliness concerns, pest issues, or dissatisfaction with the condition of the unit. The only correspondence we received was a single request for additional detergent for the washer and dishwasher, which we promptly acknowledged and addressed. We are always open to constructive feedback and wish you had reached out during your stay so we could have had the opportunity to address your concerns in real time. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband and I traveled to Maui for the first time and were completely unprepared for how wonderful the trip was going to be. Kaanapali Shores completely blew us away. We were so nervous booking since this was our first trip to the island. I can honestly say this condo and beach were top notch. The location was PERFECT. There were restaurants, farmers markets, supermarkets and shops all within walking distance. Not to mention one of the top beaches on the island. Highly recommend the acai bowl from the famers market down the road (Best on the island). The condo was spacious had a great view of the ocean from the balcony and laying in bed! The affordability for the space you get was incredible. The room was clean and was exactly what we wanted. The grounds were beautiful with a resort feel. The pools were stunning and the beach bar had wonderful food and drinks. The customer service from Epic was great. They provide a wonderful handbook with recommendations and were easily accessible. I have already recommended booking through Epic to friends and family and hope to be coming back again next year!
