Our historic half-timbered double room offers cozy comfort. The bed has two comfortable mattresses with fresh linens for a restful night's sleep. The bathroom includes toiletries, a hairdryer, and towels for your convenience. Breakfast is not currently available, but there are two excellent bakeries within walking distance—perfect for starting your day. The guesthouse operates contactlessly; your hosts live nearby and are available via the booking platform.
The house was first mentioned in the Ziegenhain city records in 1572 and served for centuries as an inn for traveling merchants and soldiers along important trade routes. It is also the birthplace of the renowned painter Carl Bantzer (1857), influenced by Impressionism.
Today, in the lovingly and sustainably renovated "Zeihäänger Stubb," you experience a unique blend of historic charm and modern comfort. The extensive renovation in 2023 used eco-friendly construction with clay plaster and carefully restored original beams. ("Zeihäänger Stubb" = Ziegenhain parlor in local dialect)
