The peaceful surroundings and beautiful spring scenery were perfect for a relaxing vacation away. Kathy is an awesome host. The place is clean and very comfortable! This is our second stay and cannot wait to come back!
Second time here to this quiet little cabin tucked away amongst many farms. The cabin is located in a beautiful small private lake perfect for a serene escape from the big city life. If you want relaxation this place is perfect and the host are very generous.
Excellent, accommodation expectations clearly understood ahead of time with the online listing. Beats Setting and experience far surpassed our expectations!
Loved the location, a very cozy cabin perfect for a weekend away with a fantastic view of the lake. Wish there was a full curtain in the bathroom though cuz it felt very exposed when leaving the shower
We stayed a couple nights so we could run some errands up in the northern Indiana area and do some shopping. We were also able to bring our two doggies who enjoyed their time as much as we did. We’ll definitely be back again.
I didn’t want to leave this beautiful and serene spot. I’ve never been to such a relaxing place, honestly did not want to leave! Hope to go back there for a longer stay someday💕
Such a relaxing stay. The property is beautiful, with a lovely view right from your porch. The cabin is so cute, lots of natural wood, and a great shower. Kathy makes a yummy breakfast, more than I could eat. Will definitely plan to come back again.
It's a wonderful little place to relax and unwind. The view of the lake and the horses is fantastic. The forest makes for a nice walk. The hosts are very friendly and the breakfast was delicious. Would certainly recommend!

Looking for peace...this place is it. Beautiful countryside to drive through, great place to watch the sunset over the lake, quaint & quiet. Close to Shipshewana. The property is very well maintained. Our only regret...we didn't have more time to stay and just enjoy the property.

Hosts are kind and not intrusive. Communication was perfect.

Thank you so much for coming to Mirror Lake Bunkhouse. I only wish your husband had felt a little bit better. Come again.
This cottage was absolutely perfect, had everything we needed and so quiet. Is in a beautiful and relaxing location, enjoyed watching the horses grazing nearby and the sunrise and sets over the lake. We came to experience the local Amish lifestyle and the location couldn't have been better. Our host was extremely friendly and helpful with any questions we had and offered suggestions of local places to visit. Definitely recommend this home to stay and we would definitely come back, overall a great experience.
Absolutely the very best! We needed a quiet restful area and this answered all of needs. The bunkhouse had everything we needed and the plus didn’t have any dishes to do. Also there were horses to pet and love on. I would so recommend this to everyone.
What a peaceful get away! The fishing was great (even though the weather did not want to cooperate). Kathy is super! We felt welcomed, but were given our own space. I couldnt have asked for a better first experience. We are hoping to be able to come back again!

I’m glad your first experience with the RBEO was a good one. You’ll have many more. You’re welcome back anytime.
I travel every summer from NC to take my 3 Indiana grandkids, one at a time for a 1-2 night get away with just me/grandma. This was our first visit to The Bunkhouse’ - every one of us enjoyed our stay. Low-key, country setting with things to do/enjoy right there at the rental, as well as things close by to enjoy.
Kathy was an excellent host. We hope to return next year.

About the host
Hosted by Kathy Fought
My name is Kathy and my husband is Jed. We have three grown children and seven grandchildren. We take great pride in the 175 acres. We own here at this location. We enjoy being outside and being in our woods. We enjoy the pool and the lake. We host many family gatherings. We want you to enjoy your slice of heaven while you visit. Our little Bunkhouse is a converted 2 car garage. Giving you a 500 ft.² rustic Bunkhouse. It has a living room, bedroom and bathroom. And a small kitchenette, your outdoor space comes with a patio, Blackstone griddle and fire pit. A short stroll and you’re sitting on the pier at Mirror Lake. For a cozy girlfriends weekend or a larger family, we can sleep seven. But it’s more ideal for 2 to 4 people. We are in the country with Amish farms and families around us. But you can get to four or five restaurants, tasting rooms and entertainment in just a few miles.
Why they chose this property
My husband and I both grew up on farms in the country. We wanted to give that same experience to our kids. For us, our house is exactly what we wanted. Peace and quiet and in the country. With 150 acres of farmland. And a private 12 acre lake. Along with two separate woods. With trails for enjoying the woods. We live in the country with Amish families and farms nearby. Horse and buggies on the roads along with horse poop. But it’s peaceful, quiet serene, just what you may be looking for to get away for a few days.
What makes this property unique
The main house dates to the early 1830's. There is a family cemetery with 49 graves on the farm, just south of the horse barn. We have an Osprey (bird) nest in our power line tower. There are only 5 nests in Noble Co. and 3 in LaGrange Co. AND WE HAVE ONE. This is their 5th year returning. It is peaceful and private. You are the only guests on the main property (there maybe campers in the woods at the 2 campsites.) A place to reconnect to each other or be on a vacation with another couple and NOT be surrounded by other people. Again did I say PRIVATE AND PEACEFUL!!
