Our thatched cottage, built in 1910, is located in the heart of Holstein Switzerland on the Baltic Sea. With its lush natural surroundings, the region offers an ideal starting point for bike rides, trips to the beach, day trips, and beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
You’ll find our historic thatched cottage not far from the small medieval town of Lütjenburg on the Klamp Estate. In the tranquil hamlet of Rönfeldholz, you can enjoy soothing peace and quiet far away from the hustle and bustle.
The nearest beach is an 8–10-minute drive away. A crystal-clear lake with a gentle slope into the water is just a 3-minute drive away. In the mornings until 9:00 a.m. and in the evenings starting at 7:00 p.m., you’ll most likely have the lake all to yourself. By the way, the lake is perfect for stand-up paddleboarding. Both the beach and the lake are easily accessible via well-maintained bike paths.
You’ll find all shopping options in the immediate vicinity, either in Lütjenburg or Selent, each a 4–5-minute drive away.
Located in the heart of many popular destinations, you can reach Fehmarn, Grömitz, Kiel, Eutin, Heiligenhafen, and Scharbeutz (Timmendorfer Strand) in 20–45 minutes by car.
Our lovingly furnished cottage combines historic charm with modern comfort and invites you to unwind—whether on the garden terraces, with a good book by the fireplace, on walks, or on a bike or hiking tour through the natural surroundings.
Bathed in bright natural light and nestled in picturesque natural surroundings, our property offers sunny spots to enjoy and shady retreats if you prefer a cooler atmosphere. Our suggestion: Start your breakfast at sunrise on Terrace 2 and end the day at sunset with a barbecue on Terrace 1.
The two-story cottage features 3.5 rooms spread across a living area of approximately 70 square metres.
On the ground floor, a spacious entryway welcomes you.
The bright kitchen is fully equipped (refrigerator/freezer combo, dishwasher, stove with ceramic cooktop, Moccamaster coffee maker, electric kettle, dishes, and silverware) and offers an idyllic view of the garden.
The stylish shower room features a spacious rain shower, a toilet, and a sink with a vanity cabinet providing ample storage space.
The living room includes a dining area for 4 people. Next to it, a seating area with a couch, TV, and fireplace ensures cosy evenings. The ground floor is rounded out by the stairwell, which is equipped with a desk. The Wi-Fi router (fibre optic) is also located in this room. A bench beneath the stairs is perfect for a cosy read.
Through the stairwell, you can access the upstairs gallery. The highlight of the gallery is its beautiful, open layout, as well as a separate, cosy sitting area complete with a chaise longue. The bedrooms branch off from the gallery. Both Bedroom 1 and Bedroom 2 are equipped with a double bed (160 x 200 cm) and spacious built-in closets. The double bed in Bedroom 2 can be retracted to 80 x 200 cm if needed.
There are two sunny terraces at the front and back of the house where you can sit and relax in the shade. In addition to a seating area with a sun shade, the cottage features a gas grill as well as various portable outdoor furniture and lounge chairs—find your favourite spot and let us know by signing the guestbook.
Also in front of the house, you’ll find a thatched shed that offers space for your bicycles, beach gear, surfboard, or stroller. In addition, the shed contains more outdoor furniture, seat cushions, and storage for the pellets used to fuel the fireplace.
